[PC, Steam] Assetto Corsa Competizione $20.98 (70% off), 30%-50% off DLC @ Steam

370

70% off appears to be a substantial discount.
Additionally, the downloadable content (DLCs) is currently on sale as well; you can find them here:

Although I've heard that Assetto Corsa Competizione is regarded as the top GT2/GT3 simulation, I'm considering passing on this opportunity as I'm still in the learning phase of Sim Racing, and playing Assetto Corsa (AC) from this deal:

My current setup includes Assetto Corsa and a $50 used Logitech DFGT wheel, providing me with numerous hours of both enjoyment and frustration.

For those considering venturing into sim racing, here are my tips, drawn from my own experience of starting just 3-4 weeks ago:

    Wait for a Game Sale:
Keep an eye out for game sales; Assetto Corsa might offer even more enjoyment, especially if you wish to avoid being confined to GT2/GT3 races exclusively.

Hold Off on a New Wheel Purchase:
If you're uncertain about your level of interest, consider acquiring a budget-friendly wheel. I personally obtained one for $50 through Facebook Marketplace. Despite being over a decade old, it still functions exceptionally well. Check it out here: https://www.beracer.com/logitech-driving-force-gt/. It comes with Windows 10 driver support and operates on Windows 11 with Core Isolation turned off.

    Persist through Challenges:
If you're new to sim racing, expect a learning curve. Initial races might be challenging, with the likelihood of spinning out of control. Stay determined, experiment with different cars, and don't be disheartened by initial setbacks. If the experience becomes less enjoyable, consider using assists. Don't be swayed by online opinions; the primary goal is to have fun and derive enjoyment. If a pure sim game isn't right for you, try something less complex.

    Upgrade Gradually:
Enhance your setup as necessary. While I'm content with my current kit, I may explore better pedals in the future for an improved experience. The key is to find a balance between enjoying your current setup and gradually investing in improvements.

Total cost for me to get started:
    $11.73 Game
    $50 Wheel
(yes I had a half decent PC already)

And don't forget to make the most out of your experience, install content manager (alternarive user menu, more customisable and powerful), along with custom shaders patch and pure (scripts and weather system enabling better textures, details etc).

Youtube is your friend re setup :) enjoy

Absolutely! It really turns a decade old game into a modern one

  • Yes! Stay off the track you n00bs

    • +2

I do - I try to stay on the track but the cars keep spinning off :-p

  • how's the VR performance now? heard it was awful before.

    • +1

      Still terrible.

AMS2 still the pick for VR.

      • I already have AMS2 and Assetto Corsa. Should I buy this? I don't mind none-VR play either if the experience is better.

  • +1

Assetto Corsa (older version) normal or ultimate is on sale for really cheap occasionally or you can buy from 3rd party key stores (at your own risk, of course). More people play the original game occurring to steam chats + mod support of so many things, shaders, etc

    • Yeh! I put a link to the last OZB AC deal in the description of the post. It’s that OZB post that got me into this sim racing stuff
