Why Do Telstra Give Receipts with $0 on Them for Outright Purchases?

Hi

my phone died, samsung couldn't fix it, for them to refund me they need a receipt of payment.

The receipt originally that i had says $0 even though i bought it outright. Samsung did not accept this. I made an appt at telstra and they gave me and order receipt with the price on it an a proof of warranty with the imei. the girl said they zero out there registers that why the receipt says zero.

Samsung did not accept these further documents, they need to see the 5000 on the actual receipt. Surely telstra can give me receipt with the 500 on it that I paid right, Samsung aint gonna budge otgherwise, the guy thinks im scamming and that its on a plan.

Any advice?

When you go to Telstra, Ask them for the EPOW for your phone. Or send me the imei, and I can check on Monday

    • hey bro, they gave me an epow, samsung did not accept , they need the tax invoice to say the amount apparently

    pdf+edit

    • thats my final resort

    • I was thinking this too, just edit it if it's a pdf file. If it's a hard copy, you better be good at Photoshop

Take your phone to Telstra and get them to handle it. They will send it in for repair on your behalf.

    • I think he wants the refund, not to wait 6 weeks for Telstra to repair it.

      • $0 refund will be $0. Better to get it repaired and sell it off. Or try to get a refurbished replacement. Not everything can be refund as most phones are easy to repair (may need to wait for parts)

(Is there a reason why Samsung cant repair it? Or they cant repair it under warranty due to damages?)

If it is a bundle, they may consider as a gift. You can still get it repair but it is free (to Telstra), so dont try the refund route.

        • He has the tax invoice so this convo is moot
