Mass Gain Protein Powders

I'm looking for protein powders to gain mass, wondering if any one knows any decent products that work well or suggest. IF possible I'd like a cheap or decent pricing one.

Thanks.

on a side note dell discounted the Dell - UltraSharp U2412M 24 Monitor with LED again.

Instead of buying Mass Gainers, I suggest mixing protein powder with carbohydrate powder. It'll save you alot of money!

I would personally choose Optimum Nutrition either:
    Gold Standard Whey Protein; http://www.vitacost.com/optimum-nutrition-gold-standard-100-…
    and
    Optimum Nutrition Glycomaize; http://www.vitacost.com/optimum-nutrition-glycomaize-6-6-lbs

    • Thank you very much for the reply.

Might I ask if you have ever tried it? Have you seen good results?
If I will purchase it I will definitely use your referral.

      Thanks.

Good results really depends on diet and workout routine, not as much protein powder/mass gainers. I have friends who don't take supplements and have had good results from a good diet. However, to answer your question; ON is quite a well known brand and quality is quite good. In my personal opinion, the brand of protein powder doesn't really matter (you're really just buying the brand), you can always go for a cheaper or generic branded protein.

Also, purchasing online is definitely the cheapest option for workout supplements. Vitacost might not be the cheapest option; just make sure you look around for some good deals!

Also for buying online, the shipping might be quite expensive, you can always try local online shops like protein king.

Yeah, what samp e said. Importing from US stores have very high shipping costs. Also, be mindful that if you order protein from overseas, there is a chance that you won't receive it (because Australian customs will confiscate it).

    Check out http://nobullsupplements.com.au/catalog/Whey_Protein_Concent…
    or http://www.bulknutrients.com.au/shop/wpc/wpc
I use No Bull WPI because I'm trying to keep lean and it mixes really well, tastes great and also bakes well, I imagine the WPC will be just as good.

Ive been taking universal gainer (choc) for a few weeks now. Gained about 2-3kgs of healthy weight in about 6 weeks. Tastes great! And considering buying another after my current one is finished, about 2/3rds into it. For reviews: http://supplementreviews.com/universal/real-gains. I bought mine for $108 for 5kgs bag instore at Derrimut Gym Caroline Springs in VIC, pretty good for its price and quality and happy with it thus far.

I used to use Ultimate Nutrition IsoMass XTREME GAINER after about 12 weeks I gained ~7kgs of weight. (80:20 healthy:unhealthy). Although taste isn't the best but varies from person to person. This one is a bit more expensive I bought it in store at derimut gym [VIC] for $150 unless you can find a cheaper price online.

Both are mass gainers with a good ratio of proteins/carbs. Need any other advice hit me up with an personal message, studying bachelor of sports science looking to get into nutrition, will be happy to help ya anytime ;)

id be interested to know how much body fat (in %) u gained after 12 weeks of IsoMass Gainer

      • It wouldn't be much. Im still on a very slim build and have been working out consistently for around 5 months now with proper diet and a routine.

I was horribly underweight when I started at only 48kgs with barely any definition on me. Im now at 56kgs and have improved in everything considerably but with still a long way to go.

Going by estimation of course I would say close to 3-4kgs muscle, >1kg fat on ISO? Impossible to know for sure as i never took BF measurements when I started. Mind you I've been on a very very clean bulk for the past 5 months to get minimal fat gain but it is inevitably going to happen regardless of how perfect your routine or diet is like.

        • oh shiiiiiit man , didnt know that ur underweight
Youll find that mass gainers will put on more body fat for people with higher BMI's (Just talking from experience) but genetics play a role in this too
Im currently at 80Kg with a BMI of around 27, body fat of around 10%

        • Correct, but yeah would probably stray away from mass gainers if youre not looking to put on a good amount of weight. 100% whey protein is good enough. Most people should be getting enough Carbs through their meals and generally wont need weight gainer shakes.

Anywho, stearing offtopic a bit here. Feel free to throw me a message if youre willing to chat more :)

The other option a have had success with is oats from coles, Costco whatever. I have protein powder plus 3cups of oats blended, they actually blend really well. And slam that down.

  • Tuna & Oats, a good diet is always best otherwise try http://www.rogersfoods.com.au/ Whey Protein Concentrate

  • just eat lots of rice and bread as they have large carb loads which is basically building mass :) or get any mass gainer, they're all the same trust me.

  • www.msbprotein.com.au has good cheap supplements
