when in doubt, use the your/you're in a sentence and work out which one fits

        as in
"you're attempting to be a spelling nazi, but do not have the appropriate skills"
        or
"I believe your English teacher would feel ashamed at this moment in time"

  • I was trying to get the deal in quick - I hate posting in deals stating you've beaten me by few seconds :-)

    • you can edit the post and fix the link

  • great

  • nice.. ordered!

  • Can anyone explain to a nub what this is for?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that you can use this to connect USB 2.0 devices to your computer.

      • 4 USB 2.0 devices (just to be exact) :P hehehe

        • Or 1 USB 8.0 device

    • Can you explain to me what a "nub" is…?

  • Nice just what I needed. :)

  • Voted up and ordered. Sweet item for 2012 Macbooks since some usb 2.0 devices dont work unless you have a multiport inbetween them on the new USB3.0. This will be perfect.

  • Does anyone know how to adjust the time, dont tell me it will auto sync the clock with my computer…

    • there is a single button to change the time

Is it just me, or does Meritline not work properly with Paypal?

When I buy stuff from Meritline, the Paypal page never says how much I am paying, it just says something like "you will be able to see your purchase value before you complete your order". But it never does, I get thrown back to a Meritline page saying "Thank You For Ordering From Meritline.com!". I can only confirm the amount was correct by checking the email from Paypal.

This has always happens whenever I buy from Meritline, from other vendors the amount being paid is shown on the Paypal page, so I don't think it's a browser compatibility problem. Currently using Firefox 13.0 under Puppy Linux 5.2, if that is relevant.

I should add that I have a meritline login, and I log in before going to the checkout page. What does everyone else see?

I've never been ripped off by Meritline, I just can't figure out why Paypal doesn't seem to work correctly with Meritline.

Yep, Noticed this for quite a while now, I use Firefox too with Windows 7

  • thanks, ordered one. just what i need atm.

    • Dont worry, you'll get it before you retire.

  • 2.0 is good enough, we don't really need a 3.0! Be happy what there is cant get any better :)

  • Meritline is dead to me. I've wasted too much money on junk over the years.. Neg me if you agree

Meritline only accepts PayPal, not normal VISA/AMEX etc.
I really dislike PayPal's policies and the way they treat their customers, so this deal is not for me.

  • Nice..

  • Would this run say 4 USB sticks at the same time? I'm not sure whether 4 unpowered devices and a hub running from one computer usb post would work.

    • Probably, as long as you aren't doing transfers on all four simultaneously.

A lot depends on the memory stick. USB devices are supposed to report the amount of power they need, and the operating system is supposed to disallow them if the hub can't supply enough power. I haven't seen this implemented properly in any OS yet, the OS just lets everything connect. I have a Kingston USB stick that reports it needs 700mA, and it always works on all operating systems, despite the USB2 specification saying that a single port shouldn't be able to deliver more than 500mA. It even works through unpowered hubs.

Don't use an external HDD though. Unpowered hubs (and even some powered hubs) don't have enough power for that.

    • What are you trying to do RAID on USB sticks? :)

  • Expired now

  • Yeah, code no longer accepted it seems

    • same here

  • No longer works, please mark as Expired

  • got mine today.. it's green

have no use for it atm lol
