  • Hi newbie question about dash cams :Easy to install this thing? I guess tapped into battery somewhere? How about the drain on battery etc?

    • You need to buy an accessory hard-wire kit for parking mode and tap into an always-on 12v source. the kit will cut out power draw if battery falls below a certain voltage

      • Any recommendations ? Good instructions with these things? I've a fairly old car so dnt mind a bit of tinkering but in not really into cars, so don't want to fck about too much either

It's pretty simple, ebay sell the hard-wire kits for about 20 bucks - three wires, one to Battery +, one to Accessory (just use an add-a-fuse from supercheap and tap into any lower amperage circuit) and a wire to ground. heaps of length in the kit to run it behind dash, up the A piller, across the roof to the cam.

Fake 4k, interpolated as always. No better than a 1080p camera at this price point.

u mean 1080p lens that scales the imagine to 4k resolution lol. what a gimmick..

Yep. Another BS marketing listing. All hype, but the recordings will be rubbish.

The 4K/Other image … well Other is what you'll get with this.

Buy cheap, get cheap. This, of course, is not always the case, but if you plan on buying cheap, make sure there are plenty of reviews for the item, and none that are clearly bought by the manufacturer.

I have 2 of this model. I think it's fantastic value. Yes it's not as clear as expensive models but it's picture quality is completely adequate and at least on par with my old Blackview 1080p camera. The only issue I had was with the supplied SD cards. After a few months the cameras were giving an error message regarding the cards, but the seller promptly sent me replacement cards and I haven't had any issues since then. However better to get a proper brand name endurance card meant for the purpose. If you can afford a brand name dashcam then go for it, but not everyone can justify spending that much, especially when you have more than 1 car in the family.

I take issue with companies falsely advertising specs etc etc, just a warning to those that may get into buying one then realising it isn't what they thought they were buying.

Fair points, depends on what one values. I value being able to capture the licence plate details, especially at night with reflections so have a Viofo A229 Pro & Vantrue Nexus 4 Pro.

The reviews seems to suggest it's a decent product. I reckon for the majority of users - who install it and never look at it until required - it's ideal.

Until you get in a hit and run and can't read the plates

  • Hi OP, I am missing something here? Even after applying both codes I am getting final price $91.99. Could you please check and confirm. TIA

Looks like the seller has jacked up the price. Marking the listing as expired.
