Recommendatiosn for a Mid Range Table Projector

I want to buy a projector. I don't own a TV and have no plans to buy one. I watch everything on my laptop, but I have a big white wall perfect for my Netflix binging spree. the features that are important to me are: table-mounted/portable, wifi connection, and built-in apps such as Netflix youtube etc. I am expecting a bonus from work in a couple of months and this year I'd like to treat myself to a good quality projector that meets the requirement.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

  • How many windows in that room?
Can you make it perfectly pitch black?

    • There are floor to ceiling windows but i have blinds. At night it’s dark enough with maybe streetlight poking through the blinds.

  • +1

By portable do you mean battery powered? Or are you still going to run power to it and just want to be able to put it away?

What are you doing for audio?

    • In terms of power - the later. I want to be able to put it away. Don’t really have anywhere to mount it permanently.
Actually never thought of the audio part. Don’t intend to get a sound system so I guess it’s either gonna be through the projector or my laptop.

      • Most projectors have terrible audio, but if you're happy with laptop speakers…you might not care/notice?

        • ok. Laptop speakers it is.

  • I use the 1080p Xgimi horizon as main tv, highly recommend. Still useable during the day even though quite washed out with a room spilling in light

    • Just checked it out. I hope $1600 isn't considered mid-range for a projector! 😂😂😂🙈🙈🙈

I got it for closer to 1200 but yeah that’s mid lmao

Unless you meant you only want to pay like 150-300. I have a Yaber one I used in my gym with lights dimmed real down, works ok. Paid around 250 iirc
The speakers are totally trash, low res, inbuilt os is a bit butt, fans mega loud, spills out heaps of hot air.

        • Ok I was thinking around $500 but I see I will have to increase. I’d rather spend the money and get a good one so I’ll shop around and see if I can get the one you recommended on sale or something.

  • Budget?

    • i am thinking 500-ish should be mid-range? not looking for a low budget one but not looking for the Rolls Royce of projectors either.

I know you're not looking for a low budget projector but your ~$500 will only allow you a low budget projector.

        • Oh wow! Ok. That’s a humbling thought 🤣🤣Ok I can increase it to $1k

Havent used this before but just got an email from costco. Costs 550. Features list seems to meet your requirements.

    • it sure does! thank you!
