  • How easy is it to cancel First?

Easy, but if you cancel it on day one, means you end the benefits too for rest of the trail period.

      Order First, then Cancel.

It won't work the other way around…

Anyone here got experience with this model? We were saving up to go for Toto S2 (debating to just adapt it to existing toilet or get a whole matching set) but either way thats still huge money in comparisons to these ones.

    • +32

This one's smaller than your average toilet seat. The heated seat works well. Only issue I ran into with it was that the heated water spray broke so it was only spraying cold water. Luckily it was still under warranty and they replaced it. Only weird thing was that they asked for a video of the issue. I proceeded to send them a video of myself spraying my ass and saying "oh it's not warm"

    • +2

Yeah, I had this model for about three years until it suddenly died from an internal short circuit. It did its job pretty well but I feel like the toto washlet which I have now upgraded to cleans a quite a bit better and is generally better built. However, you would expect that from the massive difference in price. In terms of value for money, the Kogan one is pretty good.

      • +2

Where did you get your toto washlet and for how much?

        • Keen to know also, looking for a quality washlet in Melbourne.

        • +1

I got the Toto Basic+ toilet with the TCF4732AT washlet (fancier model with automatic opening and stuff) from a local brick and mortar bathroom store for around 4.5k. Definitely paying the Australia tax when buying Toto locally so alternatively, you can buy one for much cheaper on Amazon US and use a transformer or if you're in Japan, I believe some stores sell 240v versions.

    • +2

Jesus $1800. My bum wants it though after countless poos in Japan.

It will cost you a dollar a day for 5 years to break even if you poop everyday.

      • well we have 4 people in the house, so that helps

and yall only poop once a day? i find poop time is the only true peace time when you got little kids (hell maybe even when you got big kids)

    • Got this 3 years ago for $299 and still working fine. I find the pressure a bit too much even at the lowest setting, but all good once massage is activated. Will most likely buy the same one if my current one breaks.

    • thats exactly whats putting me off going for cheapy options. The plumbers install fee + call out is almost guaranteed to be more than $279.

Yep. Should be illegal for companies like Kogan to sell them in the first place imo.

I bet most people that buy this are some clowns who are going to break the law (either through ignorance or flat-out disregard for the health and safety of their families and surrounding neighbours).

I mean look at the selfish people voting down facts because they don't like it.

You're also potentially putting your home insurance at risk if you have what is essentially illegal plumbing work found at your property.

        • +1

People are downvoting you because the poo cops appear whenever bidets are mentioned.

There would have to be metric tons of uncertified/non-compliant electronics sold in Australia every day but no one runs into the town square to condemn the sinners.

Obviously, I agree people these absolutely require a ABV and competency to install one.

But y'know… no one's gonna know if you didn't hire an elec to replace a power plug, or reseal a gutter pipe - if you're competent enough to DIY.

If you drink shitwater or cop 240v through an alarm clock, that's on you man

An insurance company could easily ask for an invoice from a qualified tradie if they suspect (or can use it to justify getting out of a claim) work contributed to an incident.

            If you drink shitwater

Except, these morons aren't just putting their family at risk, they're putting their neighbours at risk too.

i have seen some pretty bad DIY's for one of the most straight forward things possible lol

    • To attain a watermark certification doesn't it need a backflow device built in?

      • Means nothing if not installed correctly.

It's the law. It's that simple.

      • Yeah they need to test the backflow device. Might still be cheaper to get a new one every year (i think it needs to be certified every year)

Not sure where it mentions plumbing license

        This publication is for: Plumber

    • +1

I'm not saying its legal to install but that article is written by a plumber and to me it comes across like they are just trying to justify their charges to install one.
I'd be curious to see what the actual legal requirements are to install a seat like this deal? Are these seats classed as Bidets in the building code? Do you require a high hazard backflow device for one of these seats if they have a built in back flow device under the building code? Do these seats have reduced pressure zone devices or are they classed as reduced pressure zone devices? If so, must they be tested annually to ensure they continue to operate effectively and if so must they be tested by a licenced plumber?
It would be terrible if your neighbour did a DIY and due to poor installation it caused water contamination. Not sure how likely this is to happen? maybe more likely in apartments than houses?

        https://www.productsafety.gov.au/news/covid-19-supplying-and…

While many housebound Australians may be more inspired to complete odd jobs at home now than ever before, DIY installations of plumbing and drainage work including bidet products could put the health and safety of you and your family at risk, and it’s also illegal.

    • How come this got massively down voted?

      • Because when people are doing something that deep down they know is dangerous and dumb, they lash out at others when their stupidity is pointed out, because they wanted to try and be ignorant to the fact.

    • Years ago it was illegal to record shows on TV.
      It's also illegal to speed.
Have you ever done any of those 'criminal' acts? 🤪

      • Years ago it was illegal to record shows on TV.

Not now. Also, recording a TV doesn't put others health and safety at risk - not a reasonable comparison.

        It's also illegal to speed.

Which I don't do because I'm not a selfish prick who arrogantly believes me arriving a few minutes earlier (if that) is worth putting the lives of others at risk.

  • I'm not sure it'll fit my bowl. I've got 500mm from the cistern to the front of the bowl and this is 501mm long, but I'll need some room for the lid to open too. A little overhang is OK, but not if the inside rim of the bowl is exposed. There's no detail on the on the positioning of the mounting holes either.

  • the user manual link appears broken,

can these be installed with back to wall systems where the water taps are hidden? can never find a install video with these types of toilets.

    • install video

sometimes i wonder if this is because they want to dissuade DIY

    • i googled the manual and found it.

    • I managed to do it by using a dremel on the area where the cistern meets the lid to create a notch big enough for the hose to pass through.

  • It appears it doesn't have a Remote Control, but a fixed Control

    • +1

      What.. no Bluetooth?

I want a soft jazz music when I'm clearing my butt- this is unacceptable!

    • sorry I posted the wrong link but now updated to the correct one with the remote control

This one is showing a larger discount. Any thoughts?

    • thanks, i accidently pasted the wrong link but now updated the link to the one above. My brother has 2 of these and he's used it for 2 years now. He swears by them and its still going strong. So i've bit the bullet and bought one.
