Basketball Coaches That Come to You? - Upper North Shore NSW

We have a 7 year old and would like a coach / tutor to come over and do some practice for an hour a week. We have an outdoor ring and courtyard to do drills on and some shooting practice.

Not sure where to start. We saw one online sports portal, but it requires us to subscribe in order to get access to coaches - seems a bit of rip off.

There are organised teams, but it's hassle to drive, park, etc.

We had some indoor venues within walking distance when we were overseas - so he likes those types of activities.

Where do other people go to find coaches/tutors?

In Sydney, Upper North shore.

Why not join a local team?

  • Maybe ring and ask these guys.

Join the local FB group near you and put an ad there or I can come to teach but you will have to pay for airfare and accommodation :)

Go spend some time with your kid.

  • How much are you willing to spend for an hour per week including travel time?

You'll be paying a bit for this type of personalised service. So if you're willing to drop $80-160 per 'lesson', post an ad or two.

The only problem with 7 year olds playing organised basketball, is they get the early time slots for games. So 8-9am starts on a Saturday.

What is the point of doing basketball training, if he's not going to be on a team?

If he just wants to shoot some hoops, why don't you just do it with him?

    • put it on airtasker
    • put a flyer at the local courts
