Just got my brand new Philips PT920CC opened fresh sealed in box and not able to charge the dam thing, could it be faulty battery? Just got it outta the garage since my brawn just gave up on me, I swear, most tech now days don't work straight from the box, prob is don't know were the dam receipt is or will try to get replacement.

Search on your E-mail for Phillips PT920CC or for the name of the Store you bought from. Some shops like TGG now E-mail the receipt.

From what I can tell this is a very old model. Despite being "new", when did you buy it?

Yeah what holdenmg said - it's a very old model. If you've left it in the box, unused, it's entirely possible that the battery has completely died from not being used/charged. As an example, for Christmas 2020, I bought my daughter a hoverboard with a lithium ion battery. I fully charged it initially and she used it twice but lost interest and sat unused. At the end of last year, she asked me to sell it for her but it no longer worked (refused to charge) and I determined the battery was dead from not being charged/used.

You could ask Philips but if it's older than 3 years, I don't like your chances (assuming my recollection is correct that the defined warranty period is 2 years). I had a top of the range Philips shaver around 2015/16 that only lasted 6 months before it stopped working.

  • It's clearly manufacturing issues defects, no wear and tear signs as never been used before. So nothing can be done about it?

    • Have you reached out to Philips… what did they say?

    • So how old is it? You seem to have dodged this question…

  • Take out any screws and prise case open. Unsolder old battery and replace with same size battery from Ebay or Aliexpress. Problem solved.
