Hey there, my current phone (Z Fold3) has a damaged screen and would cost almost as much to fix as it would be to get a Fold4 refurbished from eBay.
I was wondering if it's worth spending the $900ish on a Fold4 or is it worth spending $1500 and going for the Fold5 from the same store.
P.S- If the screen wasn't damaged (black dot in corner from when I dropped it and micro cracks down the crease) I wouldn't be upgrading.
Fold 4 and 5 have exactly the same spec only a difference in the hinge. The Fold 5 looks slimmer. You have to decide if that is worth $600 to you.
The Fold 5 does have a newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, but realistically you probably won't see much difference in day to day use.
The slimness is quite noticeable to me but it's probably a better idea to get the Fold 4 now and wait for a Fold 6 trade-in deal next year.
You are right, it does have Gen2. Every other feature looks the same including battery capacity, screen and camera spec.
I suggest a more robust phone.
Title is misleading. It's not faulty. It's damaged because you dropped it.
