Does it actually? If so , hell yeah that’s awesome!

      Edit

      Oh damn! It does!

  • mfw the weekly Citizen diver deal hits

    ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  • Why don't they send Deepak any of the pepsi fugus with 8204 :-(

    • +1

      Dang. Just saw your reply.

    • If it's any consolation, the 8203 is supposed to be more accurate than the 8204.

      • I have heard that, but my OCD can't handle another watch without hacking.

        • +3

It's not that important on an auto really.

          • @WatchNerd: I mean, that's your opinion :-P I usually set it once a week, and if it drifts it drifts, but I at least like knowing that my set point was accurate.

            • @ASR-Briggs: It's not that important on an auto really.

(You'll be setting it every two days unless you wear it as a one watch only. It's easier to wind and hack it to dust 30s off the time or whatever).

I swing both ways. Sometimes, if I grab an auto to wear right then, I'll just set it to the nearest minute and be done with it, who cares about the seconds hand. Othertimes, I'll have a session of OCD timesetting and reset a bunch of watches whether they be autos or solar/quartz to the exact second.

  • $299 last weekend, still a great price.
Edit prob old movement based on recent comments.

    • Also different model with a rubber strap.

      • Oh right, all very similar. But true bracelet costs more. You got a Fugu or anything similar or just eco-drives?

        • +1

I've got the green dial fugu, very nice watch.

          • @WatchNerd: Oh nice. Picked up the titanium one. NY0100-50M. They are a bit think but it's hidden well with the recessed case back etc. chose it over a Tsuyosa, $399

            • @G-Shock: I have the NY0100-50M as well and I was surprised at how different to the Fugus they are - the Fugus' dial is noticeably larger than the NY0100-50M.

              • @The Vat: Oh right yeah the 50M is 42mm, that may explain it. Wears alright for me though.

              • @The Vat: Ps does the fugu have the same recessed case back? Not 100% how it (50M) sits maybe between holes but the bracelet has no taper so that could affect comfort. Isn't too heavy at least. Be a good beater or basic diver, can't go too wrong for the price.

                • @G-Shock: I got the bracelet sitting perfectly. The screw back of the 50M sits a bit more proud relative to the lugs compared to the Fugu but for me they seem to sit the same on my wrist, but I have a bit of a hollow in my wrist where my watches sit so they seem to sit at the same height.

                  • @The Vat: Ha that's handy. Yeah I got each side equal length, I think it's ok. Secure fit better than sliding down a bit.

                  • @The Vat: I think the normal NY0085-86E would be fine for $279 ($189 a few years ago) and put a nicer rubber strap on (braclet and straps are rubbish). No doubt they would probably have the non-hacking version 8203 movments.

The 50M is pretty nice, don't think titanium is necessary and the bracelet doesn't taper (and no dive extension). Still alright for $400. By the time i sold it may get closer to $300.

I think the 44mm Eco-Drives (BN series) are just easier and better overall but these older autos are pretty bullet proof.

  • Why would you do this to me, Deepak? I already got the Batman and the Pepsi.

    • I know the feeling, but why get so many similar ones.
Should at least get one of the eco-drive 44mm, generally better with date only, the autos are fairly entry level but good Work horses

      • Oh, I'm not short of eco-drive Citizens in various guises.

        • Good work, they wear pretty well for the size, chunky but light and fairly thin. I got two (yet to see the second navy one from the states, relative getting it ha).

          • @G-Shock: Citizen are pretty honest with their sizing. My secret favourite (I'd classify myself more a Seiko guy) is a titanium Promaster Citizen CB0140-58 with sapphire that's my travel watch, it's really easy to change time zones and it snags atomic clock signals a couple of times a month.
