in context this is susposed to be supported on one side by your 4x4?

ie/. you're one of those guys with a SUV that has a Kings or whatever side awning

        • No, I am not one of those guys. I have a Ford Ranger with no awning at the moment. I have an XTM awning in the garage yet to be fitted as I have no roof racks or roof platform.

I was thinking the same until SCP (Bayswater) said my order had been collected by someone else with an ID. What a joke.

YouTube of it. Better still we need to setup Ozbargain channel of broken dreams. Items that did not live up the description.

      • I’ll be sure to take some pictures for you if I end up in a web of broken poles and Oxford cloth.

  • It's one of those too good to be true things. Yes, it's cheap, but there is a reason it is cheap and on such a crazy clearance.

  • Looks like limited stock for VIC at least. A bit of a sham, I'd buy it and attach it to the trailer like on of the reviews did. Thats my plan with an awning I got.

One of the reviews shares a video of the set up and pack down.

Looks reasonable enough for $99, but the design is definitely not amazing.

    • Super helpful thanks Prong

    • looks like a pretty straightforward process, not too sure why so many people have issue with it (according to the review)

  • Does anyone know the packed dimensions? Couldn't find:(

    • I'm gonna say 170x30x40 based on that video linked above

      • Thanks. Too bulky for me.

    • just got the one and measured, it is a soft bag with length 150, and both high and depth around 26-28

  • Ordered one, thanks OP. Just wondering what to spend the $20 voucher on :)

Never waste your time on cheap shitty tents imo.

    • There are some uses for cheap shitty tents. For instance some travellers fly in to locations and only need a tent for short periods so no use spending big bucks.

    • Could you possibly recommend a decent one that's not outrageously expensive? We will only need it for a few hours at a time, and occasionally so (once a month or so). Will be using it mostly in parks, etc. where the nearest woolies is no more than a 30 minute drive. Mainly just so the child could runaround in the park and come to rest in the tent.

We are not the wilderness types. Any suggestion is appreciated.

      • No need for a tent, just get a 3x3 gazebo.

        • Thanks, just looked that up. We want a tent instead as we need the sides to be closed and an entrance. Suggestions?

          • @CocaKoala: Ahh I'm really not sure on specifics - as my original comment implied this isn't something I go near. But for your use, absolutely anything would work. I still don't think a camping tent is what you need and would a million times over pick a gazebo with walls (you can also buy like a whole screen room insert). But if you're set on a tent, honestly just get a basic 3 man dome. Only 2 cross-poles (and maybe one on the front vestibule) but will be up in minutes. Try the second hand market - plenty of people try camping and realise it's not for them.

            • @Hinee: Sorry, I did not know that a gazebo could have walls. That might just suit us also. Any recommendations? Thanks for your help :)

PS: I would also have a look at the used market.
