Ryobi One 18V Drill Kit for $99 at Bunnings?

I thought I saw an advertisement for this on either tv or Youtube last night, but I can't find any reference on this site or the Bunnings website. Did anyone else see such an ad and I misread the price?

    • Thanks. I did a search and couldn't find it.

I note that is only a 1.5Ah battery, whereas other similar offers have had the 2.0Ah.

      • 1.5 is enough for a drill…

        • 2ah is not really any different to 1.5ah. Same numbers of cells, just with a little more capacity.

The bigger battery packs (4ah+) make a difference in some heavy current use tools. This is because they have 2x 1.5 to 2.5ah packs in parallel and can provide more current.

I have found that the cells in the smallest packs don't seem to be as good as those in packs sold by themselves. This might have improved now they have the 3 year warranty on the batteries.

          • @whats up skip: For a drill, it'll hardly make a difference.

            I have both the 1.5 and 2.5.

Yes, the 2.5 is better for some things like are reciprocating saw, but on the drill, i don't notice it.

      • What other similar offer for 99 and Ryobi?

        • +1

In December there was a whipper snipper kit for $99 with 2Ah.

@whats up skip: Closest kit is 149 now

Your best bet if you’re trying to get best value is wait till Aldi have a tools special and see what Bunnings to do match

Also, drill is a super common tool that even the most novice diy person can grasp how to use, less likely to get mega discounted unless discontinued. Line trimmers put many people off I find, even though it’s actually super straight forward to use as long as it’s safely used.

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Drills are usually priced pretty sharp as they are a starter tool and the company wants you to get a cheap start into their ecosystem.

              • @Euphemistic: Yeah haha that’s what I was trying to get across in my message. To be fair I really don’t mind the Ryobi range, decent value I felt.

I run a Ryobi set of tools at home and a makita set at my workshop about the same I felt.

                • @Jimothy Wongingtons: Ive also got too many ryobi tools. Decent value from the green shed. Better value when you buy used of scamtree when others decide to upgrade.

Yes, makita is better but im not sure its worth the extra cost.
