  • Any OzBargain food reviews of the hargow and gyoza?

    • only can speak for the prawn gyoza. Tastes the same as the old KB Gyoza.

    • Also echoing the above. JC tastes indistinguishable from KBs to me, and KBs prawn gyoza are an OzBargainers' favourite

    • +2

Vege gyoza is actually quite decent. Originally got for my fussy kids to try as they really don't like either the pork or prawn (sadly), but these were a hit. Old dad here is an includivore so I just enjoy all of them regardless.

    • Haven’t tried these, but Aldi’s prawn gyoza is amazing

  • Does anyone know how long you can freeze the kyivs for before they go bad?

    • I have found that any more than 6 weeks the freezer burn changes the taste to much.

      • Ha..they are little bags of preservatives. 24hrs or 24 weeks in the freezer…same same.

Check your freezer..might be getting fluctuations with the defrost cycle.

    • I much prefer the Chicken Kiev when it was at $1

Oh yay Ozbargain's favourite mush meat is on special.

Found at least three vatniks in the Ozbargain chat.

The chicken kievs are absolutely disgusting. Avoid!

    • +2

It is processed chicken. Not great, not terrible, as they say in Kyiv.

The packaged ones are better. Real chicken at least.

        Its KIEV! KIEV!

        • The food is Russian (in French style), while the city is Ukrainian, so it makes sense to say Chicken Kiev is named after Kyiv. But either will do.

    • Agree. They are like a mushy nugget with garlic cream.

    • what I call 'chicken extender', tastes like a thong. the one worn on your feet. think similar to McDonald's nuggets or McChicken, not real.

generally avoid anything crumbed at supermarkets, they use it as a mask to hide their cost cut tampering. only exceptions I've found are ALDI's refridgerated chicken tenders and frozen Kiev's, both real chicken.

How often do you chew on a thong?

What are you talking about the garlic sauce is amazing

      • The garlic sauce even looks like sludge or vampire jizz in the picture. It had no redeeming features! Agree with the other descriptions above. My kids, the dog and even my pet chickens wouldn't touch them.

    • Chicken Kievs at Aldi are much better!

  • Thoughts on the Hargow? I use to grab Mr Chen's which weren't bad, lacking a bit in flavour

  • when chicken tendys
