Exetel Promo Price Ending - Retention Option?

My six month promo price is ending and I don’t want to churn away if I have to.

Has anyone successfully had the promo price per month extended? I have an email from Exetel billing to call their sales retention team.

  • Then call them? The only way to find out is to call and see if they can extend or offer something different. If not, churn.

  • The reason every ISP is offering 6 months discount is that it comes from the NBN Co.
    So you'll just have to churn every six months. Yes it is silly.

    • Are you saying that NBNCo is subsidising discount offers from ISPs? How do you know?
      And if so, why don't all ISPs offer discount offers all the time? AussieBB typically don't, for example.

  • It didn't work for me in August last year. I moved to Leaptel which is excellent and have never looked back. I've just checked Leaptel's NBN plans and they are still offering discounts for new sign-ups.

    I empathise how annoying and potentially time-consuming churns can be, OP! Hope you find a company that works for you

    Are you specifically looking for a price-matched mobile service with another internet company?

  • For NBN? No. I tried and the best they would offer was an multi service promo that should have been applied anyway but that was only 7.50 on top of already inflated prices.
