Amazon Have Added Brisbane, Geelong, Gosford, Newcastle and Wollongong to Their Free Prime One-Day Delivery Service

Didn't know we were missing out on something here in Brisbane. Thought they were pretty decent already.

More Aussies are set to benefit after Amazon made a major announcement regarding its free Prime one-day delivery service.

The retail behemoth has revealed that Aussies living in Brisbane, Geelong, Gosford, Newcastle and Wollongong can now access free one-day delivery, providing they are subscribers to its Prime offering.

Before today, free one-day delivery was only available for residents in most of Sydney and Melbourne, while elsewhere, Aussies had to pay for Express Post to get Amazon deliveries the next day.

Amazon Australia general manager Matthew Benham also flagged that free, next-day delivery for residents of Adelaide was also on the cards.

  • Amazon have added Brisbane, Geelong, Gosford, Newcastle and Wollongong

    Oh no !!!

  • The Brisbane, they were often using Dragonfly for deliveries previously, probably have just installed their own courier army instead now

I'm in Brisbane, of all the carriers, in my experience Dragonfly is always the most reliable.

        I agree completely

This..is not good for my ozbargain fuelled amazon impulse buying hey…

  • Ordered a Echo Show at 4pm Tuesday, was here by 1pm Wednesday. Sunshine Coast and Dragonfly.

  • Was WA ever on this list?

I used to get some stuff delivered next day if ordering early enough in the day though lately everything is 2 day at best. Of course for those ones I can pay an extra $12.99 for next day delivery :/

    • Pretty sure they have (or had) a ‘small’ warehouse in Perth. Depends on what you are ordering. If they stocked it there, you’ll get it quicker. I think it was the same case in Brisbane for a long time anyway. I get most items the next day.

      • Yeh we've had a warehouse here for quite a while and at the end of last year they finally opened a new massive one they'd been working on for ages

The range does seem better except anything from local warehouse (which kinda ironically is now even closer to me) is 2 day delivery now no matter how early I order. Seems Bezos is just trying to milk an extra $12.99 for next day delivery. Anything that comes from the east has a 2 week ETA (before we got a warehouse, pre-COVID times most stuff was sent Express Post and got here in around 2 days anyway).

    • Nevermind. Don't know how things operate there, but stuff that was 2 day yesterday (or 1 day with extra fee) are still ETA for tomorrow if ordered by midday today.

So seems it can be next day delivery, but they appear to have certain delivery schedules.
