    Valentines Day Sale

Billizard does need a better excuse to discount their "average at best" products

  • +22

Thanks, my wife will be ready for disappointment just like every other Valentine's Day

  • +9

    Don't.

    • +1

      Just don't.

  • +3

I wanted to like this game I really did…

    • +6

      Same with Starfield.
Nothing wrong with replaying old games that deserve it instead

      • +2

I needed that; been trying to get something out of Starfield, but it's just not there.

        • In the genre No Man's Sky seems to tickle a sweet spot, I've lost many hours sucked into that.

    • Sums up my thoughts on the game

  • is it a complete game yet? or are they still releasing more stuff for it? I usually wait till its end of life to get teh full game with everything.

    • +1

Another year to wait yet I reckon… still sending players around on pointless missions and making sht long and boring for no reason, nerfing heroes rather than making monsters harder and creating an illusion of choice, when there's really just a few ways to play.

      Better than release day though.

    • It's fine. You won't miss much.

Tbh I liked the campaign. But uber Lilith is not going to happen unless you got the season hard (many hours) with an appropriate character class

  • 40% off and $66, is it better than previous Diablos? The gameplay looks like every version I played previously, even Fallout evolved from the 90's.

  • S3 is a shit

  • +7

    Buy D2 Resurrected instead

  • +1

Put half of that money into buying stash tabs for path of exile and have an infinitely better time.

My wife is going to love this!

  • +1

Game seems to be getting a bit of hate. How is it for the casual player (and wife) who don't care about seasons or min/maxing but just want to have fun hack and slashing in coop mode?

    • +3

As a casual player and someone who played all previous Diablo games, I only found the campaign (story line) part kind of enjoyable. The fact that you are playing through specific sections of the game with a purpose and continuation of a story made it worthwhile. The game itself outside of that is actually quite bland and boring. There is no much variety in classes and the "end game" is chasing endless number gains for no reason other than seeing bigger numbers. This is normally fine if the gameplay itself is engaging but it's currently lacking quite a lot.

If you are someone who wants to progress through something to see numbers go up with no context, it will suit your needs. Although there are far better options out there for things to spend your time on, even if it is specifically in the ARPG genre for a-lot less money.

Diablo 3 didn't have a good release but after several years and many updates it turned into a decent game. Diablo 4 at the moment (outside of the good campaign) feels like it's going through the same cycle. This will likely be a good game after another 1-2 years when they hit their revenue quota for microtransactions and remove time wasting and excessive grinding mechanics to keep player "engagement" to pan off cosmetics and turn it into something actually fun to play after the campaign.

Honestly, it's good. For one season.

  • +1

Still kicking myself that I paid 140 bucks for this.

    • ouch

    • Same, too excited. Paid one for Ps and another copy for desktop. Only played the season for few days and rage quit.

      • I kind of feel better now knowing it wasn't just me who bought copies for multiple platforms out of excitement only to quit it after 3-4 days in. Never again!

  • NO!!! Please

  • +2

Before buying you should have a good look at the current opinion of players, and content creators.

Each season brings some drama, there is still no end game, paid expansion may cost as much as the base game.

Also Activision Blizzard has laid off 1,900 people, seriously impacting their capacity to develop further their games.

There will be Path of Exile 2 soon.
