I have the 32GB version of this. It's actually quite fast.

H2testw showed speeds of about 29MB/s, however in real world transfers I get speeds much faster (starts at about 180MB/s and gradually drops until the time the 32GB is filled up, it drops to about 55MB/s).

Those are real speeds, not reporting errors by Windows. I watched the GBs go down.

make sure to get black permanent market / liquid paper from officeworks together with the thumbdrive!

  For me it's not a problem since the LED side when inserted is facing away from me (my desktop is to the right side of the monitor, not left). Or you can plug it into the back USB ports if it bothers you.
  
  It would look really stupid with permanent marker over it. Just get some masking/duct tape.
