Mountain Designs High Back Adjustable Chair $49.99 (Club Price) + Postage ($0 C&C/ $99 Order) @ Anaconda

240

I have been looking for a couple of light weight compact chairs to stow in the car.
I found this today, and after reading reviews I ordered 2 of them.

71% off RRP $169.99

Compared to the Helinox Savanna (https://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/camp-furniture… overpriced.)

Seriously great chair. Carried one around australia on my DR650 and was the envy of everyone including those on their expensive helinox chairs. I thought paying $90 was a baragain. $50 is outright theft!!!!!

    • What sleeping bag did you take? I'm thinking I need to buy a new one as my current bag is my bulkiest item. Planning a ride through the high country and trying to dial in the kit.

    • Why were the helinox jealous?

    Ozbargained :)

  • Out of stock. How's it compare to be Bunnings one?

  • Available for delivery 8 or 9 dollars. Still a bargain. It's a great chair.

    • Refresh the page. It was in my cart and got removed with the message saying they're out of stock.

  • Anything similar quality under a $100?

This one pretty good, tough and sturdy one, but its frame is steel rod rather than alumium one, pretty heavy..

Quite good for your road trip camp, it is not for hiking and bush walking.

    • Thanks! Suits me for fishing at the lake, less than a 1km walk for me. Will have a look

For those looking at this anaconda also have the mountain design foldable table half price at $64. about the same size as your standard helinox style collapsible chair when folded. Another great product. I took one around australia also on the bike.

Appears to be in stock everywhere.

    • Looks good but is the current $64 Club price not what it usually is, or is it really reduced?

Would this be good for F1?

Missing a steering wheel and a motor.

I think he means to replace his f1 seat to this. Maybe some f1 driver has done that they could comment here.

  • can anyone suggest a good chair for 140kg bloke

  • Am looking at the Mountain Design lightweight chair surf the web ( similar to the listing but low back),

which is available and $64. Can anyone who has used this chair chime in if it's ok to sit in and use ?

Or point to a similar good compact light weight chair, appreciated.

I've used those low ones, cheap chinese copies of the Helinox chairs..

They're good for $25 I paid and ok when weight and size is a real issue, but they really aren't very sturdy…(I use them for offroad touring on the motorbike)

I got my first one when the copies first came on the market, the pockets on the corners of the material part where the legs slot in weren't very strong on that one, the legs ended up punching through the material… My second one has been better, it's holding up well after a heap of use…

You have to be careful with them, they're a bit wobbly and the legs sink into the ground fairly easily, they're also a bit low and on the small side… They are usable but if you're in a 4x4 and have room you're much better off having something more substantial, sturdier, and more comfortable IMO…

For the price there's no harm in trying them, you can pick them up on ebay for about $30
