XP Pen Tablet for Maths Videos

Hi all, just wanted to know if the XP Pen drawing tablet can be used to make short videos demonstrating solving of maths equations, like the one on Khan academy.

Also, if someone can advise what software etc is needed for recording the videos, that will be really helpful.

Thanks

Brand of graphics tablet not important. Khan Academy started off used a drawing application called SmoothDraw, and now uses a Wacom tablet to draw using ArtRage. These are just ordinary drawing programs for artists and they are not made specifically to make educational videos.

OBS studio (Open Broadcaster Software) is free and open source https://obsproject.com/
You can grab a portable version (.zip) from https://obsproject.com/download

You can use any software you want to write your handwritten notes and equations. OneNote has built in inking support and it comes preinstalled with basically any Windows pc.

      Thanks a lot.

So a graphic tablet, OBS and OneNote will do the job.

    • Great info i didnt know about this SmoothDraw app.

Any good app do u know for the Linux platform? - I only know about the Xjournal one but am on the lookout for better ones.

      • Inkscape, libre Office draw

        • Thanks mate. I tried those 2 - not very good on the linux platform for pen use. Guess I have to revert to using windows for pen.

          • @jeeg: maybe they will run using wine

            • @c64: Thanks bro. I googled the smoothdrawl app and it doesnt look it will run well in wine - so i am discounting that for the linux platform for now.

Would really like a good app like smoothdraw for linux as that is my daily driver for now.
