What Is OzBargains Go to for Sound System?

Good evening,

I have been watching a fair amount of TV as of late and now have noticed that my C1 LG65 sound is not that good.
I have been doing some research and noticed that the tv would have to be on a shelf or booster seat to allow the soundbar not getting in the way of the screen. (Lack Shelf)

My question is what is the OzBargain "Toyota Camry" of sound systems for a TV of this calibre? (Analogy more for reliability as well as performance)

Do you go with some tower speakers and a sub or just your standard soundbar and a sub?

Just give me your best options. Budget is open atm, more so getting an idea finally after not caring.
I have checked previous posts and to be honest im still not exactly sure on what I go for here.

Thanks:)

What Is OzBargains Go to for Sound System?

    This…

  • noticed that the tv would have to be on a shelf or booster seat to allow the soundbar not getting in the way of the screen.

    or just a stand…

    • Step 1: Throw the box out after pulling the screen out.

Step 2: Ring the retailer and complain about missing legs.

Step 3: Go to all bulletin boards and cry for help and tell them about your tears as the ACCC is no longer helping you!

Step 4: Puchase an Amazon PRIME account, tell all your friends to come over to watch all them extra free movies.

Step 5: Write to the Bodycorp that you had been harassed by other people living in your complex.

What It Is OzBargains Go to for Sound System?

The recycling room at the bottom of my apartment complex. Hey it's Oz Bargain!

    • Beyond that I agree it is a conundrum. I usually prefer 2.1 - I know bass has gotten better in sound bars but I often find at my price-point 2.1 was better.

Once looked at the Creative T4 Wireless but it was hard to get my hands on.

I have used a splitter to split the same sound between a good system with subwoofer and one with good tweeter (and often no subwoofer). It's another cheap solution and, despite its problems, I find you can get a pretty nice sound profile with enough tweaking.

You need to go to Hardly Normal and purchase them $800 Monster Cables with claim to be 100% Oxygen Free.
Metallurgy specs from the copper plant suggest that their self regulation can claim 100% pure copper if the actual copper content is 70%.

They offer finance too but make sure the whole street can them empty blisters on your verge so they all have to live up to the new rich Jones next door.

    Logitech Z-5500.

  • If you're in the market for a sound system don't get pulled into the trap of those el cheapo 200:2 surround sound systems that have a million small speakers (I'm looking at you, Sony). Generally speaking if you can get it from JB, it's pretty basic.

Don't skimp on the centre channel either. A good quality 3.1 system will out perform a cheap 7.2 any day of the week.

I've got Cambridge Audio speakers for the last decade and they are brilliant. Get a good receiver too.

  • Edifier Bluetooth Active Bookshelf Speakers. Just search for them on deals page

  • How much space can you allocate? Do you need domestic partner approval for room aesthetics? Do you listen to music as well as movies? What movie/TV genre do you prefer?

    • I have some ample space:), no I do not need approval and yeah I do listen to Music. I also watch an array of movies, but nothing particular:)

      • I recommend going with tower mains, centre channel and sub. I have HomePods on top of my mains because the room correction and spatial audio is better for ambient music. But sitting in the viewing position and playing music through a 3.1 system will be far superior. You can add rears later. I'm not bothered about having Atmos at home.

        • Any specific links or brands you would point me in the right direction>?

          • @iNeed2Pee: Best to skip soundbars as they're not great for music. I have NS-777 mains, the obsolete relative of the NS-555. NS-SW300 is a capable and musical sub. I have a Polk centre but you could go NS-C444 as it will be timbre-matched to the mains. Just have to choose a home theatre receiver…

  • Try this for free. It made a significant difference here.

    • Just changed it now, did you find that the clear voice selection was better overall than standard and cinema?

      • Yes, for sure. The setting is essentially changing the sound equaliser to emphasise voice frequencies. Have a listen. It might be good enough, saving you $$$.

  • Awesome I will test it out, I have had it on Cinema since i got it because I found it actually amped it up a little:)

Will leave it on clear voice now, dont even think it was an option when i first got the tv
