Can we bring up the subject of email alerts again?

A couple of times I've been kicking myself over bargains Ive missed, the $10 Battlefield 3 deal for example. I know there was a thread dealing with this (email alerts) a while back but I wanted to bring it up again.

I would be willing to pay a modest ongoing fee (maybe $5 a year or somesuch) to receive email alerts whenever a deal exceeds a nominated amount of votes or if the subject matter is one that Ive expressed interest in. So perhaps I could receive an email whenever a bargain title contains "Battlefield 3".

It seems to be a good idea and perhaps even a good way to monetise the site a bit more for the owners.

I know that there is Twitter, RSS, etc etc etc but a lot of us old grandpas still rely on emails.

    the only emails i receive are the daily newsletters, you can configure it to only show deals from the gaming category

    You can also go to Gaming Category, and click on "Subscribe" to receive email whenever a new deal has been posted to that category (assuming OP has picked the Category correctly, which is not always the case, but that's another topic to discuss).

    I think the best way is to actually pick one of the previous threads and continue the discussions there. Too many threads talking about the same things here :)

      I will do that. I also set up a google alert for battlefield 3 and ozbargain, so hopefully that will work too.
