[Switch] Taiko No Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival $20.95 (70% off) @ Nintendo eShop AU

400

Good game to play with family at this price, but personally I think it will add more fun if you plan to pick up a Taiko No Tatsujin Controller. Or more arcade like controllers, i.e. lv5, iine pro or taikocatz, though value is debatable if you're a causal gamer.

Price appears to be history low according to Deku. Special ends 25th Feb.

Also discounted, but not lowest:
Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure 1 84% off @ $6.95
Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure 2 also 84% off @ $6.95

  • Why was the original game delisted? It's in my wishlist but now says unavailable

    • Exactly the same shoe here, been waiting as well, eShop says "Not yet released", but all the DLCs are still available..

likely licensing I think, only reason why I can think that the DLC is still available.

      • Music licensing most probably expired.

Yet another article that contributes absolutely nothing.

Why do journalists think they need to tell us what the game is? That it has controllers? That there is a sequel? And absolutely nothing about WHY it was discontinued. I'm sick of the waffle on entertainment 'news' sites lately. A perfect example of another article that doesn't need to exist.

        • From what I can gather it was due to music licences expiring and them not getting them renewed.

Yep, HATE these articles too, they are such a waste of time. Probably half, or more than half are AI generated, or having to fill a word count.

        • They wrote the article to drive traffic to their site, and at least three people in this thread landed on it.
I guess they got the scoop on the fact there is a problem I guess?

Thanks op. Got a drum a few months ago and waiting for the game to be on sale. 😃

If you just want the drum you can get it separately for $110ish

Rhythm Festival is now almost cheap enough for me to bite, I'm still holding out hope it'll drop closer to Drum n Fun historic low of like $13.

I'm both loving and hating the idea of the music pass, love because it's cheap and gives you an additional 600 songs, but hate because it's transient and eventually when they drop support it's 600 songs you can no longer play.

      • Damn i wish i knew about this. i bought a used one with box for 6500 yen (not including delivery). Would have bought it new if i knew of this listing.

Yeah sometimes the deals for Amazon Japan can be a little hard to find as you need to search for them with Japanese text otherwise they just don't tend to come up in lieu of more local stuff.

I think it was an Ozbargain post a little whr back that pointed out to me some of the deals to be had from the Japanese Amazon.

  • Wow, looks like this game has a dreadful song list. Really pales in comparison to the Taiko you get at arcades.

    • the music pass sub is where the songs are for this version, over 600 now. I think you get a month free on purchasing the game.

      • Until they remove them due to licensing…?

        • they add 5-10 songs to it every month, not overly fussed in the scheme of things if we lose a few here and there. It's a huge catalogue.

  • I dont like the $100 controller. it doest work well

    • I found the side hits can be tricky to get right. Then to make it more sensitive you need to go into the controller modding scene… It was the same back in the day with Beatmania IIDX for PS2 and Dance Dance Revolution, I had a friend who modded the controllers to make them just right for himself. I just used them stock and got annoyed with them lol.
