Prince of Wales Hospital Randwick - Any Free All Day Parking?

Hey guys, started a new job at POWH Hospital - just wondering if there's any free all day parking?

I don't mind a walk but just wondering if anyone has any recommendations?

I'm on 12 hour shifts.

    Co workers won't tell you?
    .

    • Unfortunately sounds like everyone's competing for the same parking.

      It’s a secret

With this one simple trick you can park anywhere for free, just don't blame me if your car gets towed.

My only general hint would be to get on Google Maps and use street view to check out streets in the surrounding area to look for streets without any signage relating to time limit.

Even better, if you've got some spare time, go for a drive around the area looking for potential spots.

Yeah, thanks, looks like i don't have a choice, i'll do that and just drive around. Looking up online it seems like the council is trying to phase out these free all day parking spots which is rough. Appreciate the advice.

You're welcome. Good luck, hope you manage to find something.

Another option could be to look for parking in the streets near The Juniors club at Kingsford and then either walk from there (about 20-25 minutes) or get on the light rail at The Juniors and then get off at Randwick and it's only a short walk

I just had a look and either Fennelly St, Randwick or Botany St (near Fennelly St and near Paine Reserve), Randwick could be good options as they're only about 10 mins walk and based on the street view, there's no time restriction.

  • May be other side of the gg track, but that was 30 years ago.

There's a section of Kennedy Street / Norton Street in Kingsford that does not have time limit. I drive pass there almost every morning and it's always packed, because you'll be competing with students from UNSW as well.

On the Randwick side, look for side-streets along Avoca Street, opposite of Randwick Boys/Girls High School.

You're going to have a hard time, I went to UNSW and needed to drive one day and finding parking was the worst.

A few streets where you can park 24/7 for free and surrounding streets:
    Barker St
    Nobar Ln
    Norton St
    Kara St

But keep in mind, you're competing with everyone from residential with permits, visitors to UNSW and the hospital and students.

To keep your sanity, public transport may be a better option, or do what my uni mate did, pay a residential address $10 a day to use their driveway.

Exactly why I put the Oscar links (above) that allow locals to rent their off-street spaces.

With fuel the price it is and everyone competing for limited spaces you are better paying and knowing you have the space for the allocated time.

If you come back and your car is towed or stolen or you get a fine, a whole other range of problems you don't need.

Parking a long way away gets old very quick after a long shift.

      Hey,

Wow, thanks for the streets, it definitely helps narrow my search but yeah, seems like the general consensus is that i probably should be paying for parking or take public transport.
