Booked with Emirates Directly, Can I Use Complimentary Qantas Lounge Pass

Hi everyone
I’ve booked flights Sydney to Dubai with Emirates directly as it was cheaper than going through Qantas . Am I able to use my Qantas complimentary lounge passes to enter the Qantas lounge or can I use the emirates lounge. I am a bronze level member

Thanks

Your free invitations are usually the General category, so…

"General: can be used at any Qantas Club domestic lounge, Qantas International Lounge or Qantas operated International Business Lounge (excluding Los Angeles Tom Bradley Terminal) when departing on a Qantas or Jetstar flight number."

Unfortunately you will have a Emirates flight number and not a Qantas one, so no.

EDIT: You can check anyway, just log into your Qantas account and go here, https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/the-qantas-club/… , and if you can link it it will be there.

  • i can see 2 passes but not linkable. thank you anyways.
will prob sell my passes to get one emirates pass

In Dubai at the moment and booked on emirates flight back to Syd - and got turned away from the qantas lounge because haven’t booked via qantas, even though it is a code share flight.

You cannot use the lounge if you are flying Emirates, you need to use the Emirates lounge when on an EK flight - they won't accept a frequent flyer lounge pass either, we just got back and the prices for the EK lounge in dubai was pretty insane, we didn't bother for the 3 hours we were there. Its a shame because my experience with Emirates even in economy has been fantastic, to the point where if they had a proper domestic service I would be ditching QF in a heartbeat.

Lounge access only if you have a flight number with QF…

Good luck with that. People give away Qantas passes they can't use. Selling is a definite no go.

  • Plenty of private lounges with pay to access in Dubai International.

Last time I flew with Emirates to Europe I got a lounge pass where a staff member met me at the gate, got me to the other terminal where it is, walked me to the lounge, where I had a nice breakfast, drinks, and a shower for a few hours and then they walked me back to my gate, including the priority lane for security. Was well worth it. Especially the shower. After a long haul flight a shower makes you feel so much better.
