New GPU around $400, Upgrading from RX 570 4GB

I want to upgrade from my trusty old RX 570 4GB, mainly play Counter Strike. Been looking at 6600xts for years, shouldv'e pulled the trigger when they were $370, but now idk what to do. Considering 4060 or 7600 but they seem like worse value than previous gen. Was also considering used, but too many horror stories make me want to avoid used rn. Should I HODL or what?

  • Are you sure you won't consider used?
Metrocom has previously sold "lightly used ex mining" 6800 XT cards with a warranty for ~$400 or less.

New, it's very light picking in the current generation. Makes me sad.

Edit - looks like I might be mistaken. The only ones they have in stock right now are vanilla 6800's for ~$470

    • I got two of the 6800's and have had no problems, they look like new and come with 12 months warranty. I thought the XT's were more expensive when they had them?

      • +1

Yeah I think you’re right - they were probably a bit more

Even the vanilla 6800 cards would be a huge step up from an rx570 though

Not sure his PSU would be up to it though as per the post below?

  • Look at Intel Arc 750. Its an enthusiast card isn't perfect but drivers have been getting better. I have one and its on par with a 3060 in some games.

    • Thanks, I will consider Arc and look into it, the prices seem quite good and lots of VRAM! One thing I forgot to mention is that I only have a 550W PSU, so that's the main reason I was looking at lower tier (lower power) cards, so I would have to budget a PSU upgrade too if a card exceeds that limit.
