  • Thanks, now I can toss out some old, destroyed suitcases. 😁

  • are these any good

      i don't trust like that

One trip and they got junked. Bad quality.
BTW similar pricing on eBay. RRP super inflated as usual.

      Selection of comments from reviews:

      • Put the big luggage in the car for the first time and one of the 4 studs on the side broke and came off. Thought it was better quality. Very disappointed.

      • Size was great. Used them on recent overseas trip and when we arrived back home a few wheels were missing on two of them.

      • Price point perfect, however wheel broke at airport.

      • -1

        Curated selection.

        • +1

Note that the last two reviewers gave a 3/5 rating. So even with the wheels missing, they are still above average.
          Wheels are overrated I guess.

  • Anyone getting these come into the cart and go through checkout with free delivery?

Wants to charge me $33 to WA even though on the front page it suggests free delivery even after entering post code?

    • I had issues using BNPL for some reason. But nothing strange about shipping issues on my end.

      • +1

yeh some postcodes are exempt from free shipping, if I change to a Melbourne address it comes in as free

        • Ahhh, RIP. πŸ˜ͺ

        • -1

Maybe you could move to Melbourne?

    ABS, no thank you.

    • Is ABS construction no good?

      • +6

It will crack, so not a long term investment.

      • +3

And it just not a crack on the case front or corner.
Main problems is when those contact luggage guys throw the cases around hit the wheels. It will just crack the case where the wheels are mounted, just what you need when you arrive for the start of your holiday. Cheap luggage is just not worth it, when you can spend a little more initially and save yourself a lot of future grief.

  • +7

One thing I don't skimp on is luggage. If you spend hundreds/thousands of dollars on flights then it's worth spending $ on quality luggage that won't break while you're travelling.

    • Any recommendations?

      • +1

I like American Tourister. You can pick up a polycarbonate case pretty cheaply on sale and they have a 10 year guarantee and excellent service for any warranty claims.

        • All the rubber/plastic coating on my wheels stripped off and one wheel broke all together, suitcase probably around 8 years old.
Ill need to remember where i bought it from and test this 10 year claim!

          • +2

@Jimmycfc: My last claim I didn't even find my receipt, they just sent me out a new a set of wheels (maybe because I had had a claim before?). Wheels have been the only problem we have had with two suitcases over 8+ years. European cobblestones just aren't nice to wheels when you have 30kgs in the case.

July Luggage β€” Collingwood based company. Premium build, love the wheels and zippers.

        • Can I take that as carry on?

          • @madreece: Obviously..

            Everything is carry-on, on a chartered/private jet..

    • or just get good travel insurance - and replace it for free when they break

  • +1

If handled with a little bit of care, these are good value for money. If you don't treat your property with care, they will break. Pretty simple really. I think it's a good price for the three pieces. RRP is definitely inflated though!

    • +6

Tell that to the contract luggage guys at the airport.

      • +1

Touche! I can't argue with that. These are also good for kids school camping trips or other adventures that don't include a plane ride and others handling your luggage. You woud hope in this day and age, the luggage guys at the airport have a higher standard than that in the video - especially with everything being filmed these days.

        • Hard shell for camping trips?

          • @bargainshooter: haha - I don''t mean the full-on backpacking type camping trips. The ones where kids go in cabins for a few nights and do daily activities. These luggage bags are good for those types of camping trips.

      • Now I see why they limit the Kg on each luggage - the madness / the rush?

  • +1

ABS is rubbish - it will just crack. I stand by Antler - I've used them on dozens of overseas trips and they've all been great.

  • What is WARRANTY? No mention of it in description.

    • Are you referring to anything other than the standard customer law giving you reasonable (2 years) warranty time?

If yes, there might be no such thing - and that's why it's not mentioned.
If you are referring to the standard one, then it's standard - and that's why it's not mentioned.

Bought these before a trip to the US a couple of years ago. Big bag lost a wheel before I got out of LAX
