  • They both have something that the other side doesnt have. Do you need floor mopping function? If so then get the submarine.

I got the Gen5. I find the optical head attachment extremely useful to see if i missed out on a spot. I have a robo vac with mop to handle the mopping work.

    • do you mean the laser light attachment? The v15s Submarine has that light attachment as well.

      • Oh ok, i probably clicked on the Submarine normal version that doesnt come with the optic laser head. But no harm in getting the submarine. It functions like the Gen5 plus an extra attachment which can be useful for certain situations. The current price is pretty cheap.

Just note that the Gen5 has a bigger dust compartment (1.9L vs 0.77L). But honestly, i think it is too big and it makes the vacuum heavy for my liking. I would prefer the V15's size. I got both an old V6 and the Gen5. Sometimes i prefer using the V6 as it is much lighter.

        • Yes the normal Gen5 also has 1.9L or 0.77 L, 1.9 L seems to be for the outsize model. Also the major difference i see in Gen5 and v15s is suction power 260aw vs 240 aw and single press on/off button vs keep pressing the trigger (which i think is not much of issue if you want to keep it running it we can tie something). I think everything else is same.

  • Do you have a robot vac that can mop floors? If yes get the gen5 version, if no get the submarine version.

  • Do you guys know if you need to hold the trigger for the submarine.

I know the detect5 can be both ways

    • Yes i think you need to hold the trigger in submarine but that is not a big issue imo, as i feel you can just tie it up with something if you want it to run constantly while you vacuum a certain area. I understand it is not convenient but also not a big issue imo.

  • Which one did you get in the end? I'm also comparing these two and waiting for a good deal
