Rotating Meal Boxes, HelloFresh/Everyplate

Hi,

I've recently tried a couple of Free boxes from both Everyplate (EP) and HelloFresh (HF). They were good and enjoyed them.
Each came with some free boxes so I tried to set up alt accounts to utilize them, different delivery address, different email addresses and payment methods, and each wouldn't let me process the orders with the Free box codes.

So my question is, how to manage these efficiently and optimize rotation to get the most out of them as you can?

My plan was to have a spreadsheet with my accounts and alternative between active and inactive, waiting on targeted 'welcome/comeback' promos.

I understand that free boxes can't be abuse infinitely, and happy to pay the discounted prices and rotate between accounts. What are others doing?
Additionally, I did have a search on here, reddit and WP and no luck..

I just use one of them until the discounted boxes run out, usually takes 4-6 weeks. In that time, one of the other ones will have sent me a code for a discount running for 4-6 weeks. They are sometimes fairly weak discounts, Marley Spoon probably has the most expensive boxes after their discount by quite a margin so you could skip them if you wanted but they have my favourite recipes so I dont mind paying a little extra for them every couple of months. I dont bother with a spreadsheet or anything, so far the discount codes have been coming in before I need them automatically.

We used to rotate, then Hellofresh threatened us with legal action for claiming a sign-on bonus they sent directly to me, with my name on it and everything. Cooked nuggets.

Lmao damn, how many did you order?

      • Normal order, nothing shady, we used to turn on the deliveries when we didnt have time to cook and turn them off when things calmed down. Used a targeted offer, then got threatening emails from em

    • You used your real name?

The spreadsheet is a good idea. You need to keep track diligently as you could end up with a full-price box you did not want and meals you did not choose if you did not skip on time. Also, need to be careful not to use the wrong name or other details when logging in or chatting/emailing them online.

  • I did this for a while and then got pretty tired of these sorts of meals. It's not just a race to the bottom, the quality generally isn't there, especially with the budget versions like EP.

  • "I understand that free boxes can't be abuse infinitely, and happy to pay the discounted prices and rotate between accounts."

Then why not just pay the discounted prices?

There's frugal and there's taking abusing companies.

There's frugal and there's taking abusing companies.

These companies bake into their pricing this "abuse".

Having known several people that worked at hellofresh the cost of acquisition for long term customers and the people who abuse the system are worth it for the revenue.

Anyway, if they allow it, who cares?

      • They also bake theft into the pricing at supermarkets too. Doesn’t make it right.

That’s the thing. these companies don’t allow it.

Hope they serve you RAT curry on your next "free" meal.

    • Speaking from experience? How do you do your Rat curry?

I used a prepaid credit card with a sign up bonus. The payment for the second box failed due to insufficient funds yet the box still showed up. Turns out you have to cancel the subscription or they'll put you in debt. Rather unscrupulous of them.

Months later I got a phone call asking is this Mr JIMB0. I asked who is calling, they said hello fresh and I hung up. Never heard from them again.
