STUNNINGSTUFF

93 points. "From a superb vintage in the Langhorne Creek region, this is stunning stuff. Contender for value of the year. Dark purple in colour, we have chocolate, licorice, plums, cloves, dry herbs and spices, with an overlay of cassis all showing good focus and fine tannins, with a lingering finish. The palate sees more chocolate emerge. The wine is soft and generous with a supple texture so enjoyable to drink over the next five to eight years. This really is amazing value." Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot.

Region: Langhorne Creek

Vintage: 2022 has been one of the best vintages experienced in Langhorne Creek. Mid-winter rainfall was above-average and a few riverside vineyards also received a small flood giving the soil a good soak. The mild season and moderate crop allowed a long ripening period to produce wines with good intensity and acid.

Vineyard: A single-vineyard, single-block Cabernet Sauvignon from Block A2 on the Angas River Vineyard in Langhorne Creek.

Oak maturation: Eight months in two year old French oak.

Harvest Date: 23 March 2022

Nose: The nose displays notes of dark berries and plums with spicy notes of cloves and nutmeg.

Palate: The palate is medium-bodied with great flavours of plums, cherries and spice, finishing delightfully smooth and lingering.

Cellaring: Drink now to 2028

  • This promo comes up very often now, are they any good?

    • Yes

      • @Miso from one of the early adopters :-)

        • So early I was there in the Geoff Hardy days!

          • @Miso: Ah ha. Yes and that’s nearly 4 years ago now!

    • @Swing A bit more detail on what it is all about here ->https://bechardy.com.au/blogs/blog-news/what-is-the-wine-she-sale-faqs

I posted the shiraz today as the Cabernet deal earlier in the week sold out over 180 x 12 Packs in less than 24 hours - it got OzBargained as it were! So a few people missed out. This one is for those that missed that one :-)

This shiraz is from the same vineyard, picked 5 days apart, similar oak treatment to that deal.

Always happy to take a question. cheers! RD :-)

      • Thanks, ordered two.

Also released I ordered from you in 2022 - too much wine affected my memory ;)

        • +1

@Swing haha - we've all done it. Thanks for the order. Enjoy! :-)

        • And your typing

  • Hey RD
Any chance a mixed pack of reds & whites will be making another appearance soon?

    • @fabulatuaest were a short on white options but I’m sure I can put something together that might work. Cheers! RD :-)

      • Looking forward to it, loved the last lot I got a while back! Thanks for the good deals RD!

        • Also looking forward 😀

  • These wines are excellent, even for someone like me who is not only a binge drinker. I have tried them before, and they surpass all others available similar . Currently enjoying their CanSab from the previous promotion—doing well above expectations.. Thanks, Bec

    • Thanks @Antfan for the kind words! RD :-)

  • I don't think I've had a drink that's not a bec hardy wine in the past month, so easily drinkable. I wish I stocked up on more whites now summer has finally come to Victoria.

Any chance on some Pertaringa deals? I know there's other places that have deals on them, but I always like sending more money to the winery itself where possible.

    • Thanks @freefall101. Short on whites but will have a look at what there is.

No chance of deals on the traditional Pertaringa range though but if you do see any please feel very welcome to jump on board. The management of our domestic brands are broadly outsourced to third parties. Cheers! RD :-)

  • RD - where am I going to store all of these?! I’m not sure I can drink this much…

    • @avinit86 we can get you down for some training 😂

  • Another dozen of lovely Shiraz at a great price. Thank you Richard.
    Cheers, Taxi
