Roborock S6 Pure Battery

Hi all

Anyone had to replace their Roborock battery yet? Was going to jump on eBay and get one but wanted to check to see if others have purchased to ensure the quality I have is good

I spent around $55 pm aliexpress for an S7 battery. It’s only been a couple of weeks but the vacuum runs longer than ever

  • I changed my Viomi battery and would recommend 100%. It went from having to charge 3 times before finishing the house back to finishing it in 1 go like in the beginning. I researched it as you do beforehand, however, I believe all of them are the same, at least from eBay. If you want piece of mind buy from Amazon.

I grabbed a genuine one for $130 from Robot Specialist on a Black Friday deal in 2022.. Only installed it last week.
Still pretty expensive, but I wanted genuine primarily cause there's additional risk of generics being poorly manufactured fire hazards. For something that sits on charge for the majority of the time, downsides are too high IMHO. Secondarily, because in my experience, generic batteries have never performed even close to the original.

To extend the life of the original battery, I cut our cleaning schedules down to do half the house in the morning, the other half in the afternoon. This added more than 18 months after we first started experiencing issues! (which for us were Error 13 charging errors. I tried all the other fixes to no avail)
It was only in the past few weeks our S50 was stopping mid-clean with zero charge, I think the BMS must've been reporting good charge level and then nothing, so the Robovac had no time to get back to the dock for a top up.

There's a billion screws to undo on mine, I'm sure the S6 Pure is similar, so while you're in there you must clean out the suction fan. Our fan was at least 90% clogged!Cleaning that alone will probably resolve a fair proportion of any battery issues you might be experiencing!
I've now set a calendar reminder to do a cleanout annually cause it was so bad in there.

The old battery tested just over 16V on a full charge. Should be 16.8V, so definitely showing its age.
