My Wechat App Has No "Pay" Function

I have downloaded the WeChat App (International version) to be used during my upcoming China trip. However, I cannot find the WeChat Pay function anywhere in the app. I was hoping to link my Australian credit card to it. Does anyone know how to do it.
Will ING debit card work with WeChat pay? I read somewhere that it only accepts credit card but not debit card. However, I always choose the "credit" function whenever I use the ING debit card overseas.

    Why don't I have the Pay feature?
    Currently, only users registered in China's Mainland, Hong Kong SAR, and Malaysia will automatically see the Pay feature entry. If your account is registered in a location outside of these regions, you will not see the Pay feature entry unless you activate WeChat Pay or Weixin Pay. Please stay tuned for updates to this feature and the available regions.

    Maybe next time actually attempt to look for the answer?

    I watched a few youtube videos and people from Canada and USA have Wechat pay feature in their app. I wonder what have I done wrong.

    If you go into settings>general>tools, there should be an option to enable weixin pay. I haven't used it myself but i can see the option of adding an international card.

    You could try set up Alipay Tour Pass inside the Alipay app which lets you use it to pay for things for 90 days with a linked card.

    On the Chat screen go to the top-right "+" symbol and click "Money". Alternatively, you can go via Me -> Services.

    Prior to being able to use these functions you will need to verify your identity using your passport. In addition, you won't have to ability to store currency on the app which is only for Chinese residents, but you will be able to make payments using the linked card everytime you scan a Wechat payment QR code.

      Thanks. . Do you know which pay method is more useful , WeChat pay or Alipay? I am thinking of getting both,just in case.

        I didn't encounter any stores that didn't offer both. I used Wechat Pay because I use the chat function already so it saves downloading another app. The process with AliPay is the same (requires passport verification).
