I spent the good part of a weekend afternoon trying to catch a rare fish so I could re-open the community centre.

  • Currently year 3 with 10million dollars……pretty bored now

    This game , and terraria.

Easily the two best games you can buy for their value.

Can play them on anything, will clock hundreds of hours, and will find yourself coming back over and over again.

Have to agree. They are grindy but not in a way where you cant do anything else. Its a casual grind.

    • I couldn't get into Terraria, I've got it on multiple platforms and given it a crack on numerous occasions but I just never went back. What am I doing wrong?

      • do you like survival/craft/build games? if not then it may not be for you. Need to also keep in mind that when terraria came out the survival/craft/build genre wasn't big and it was 1 of the games that kicked it into gear.

do you have people to play with? Terraria is astronomically better with friends. My friends and i would often spin up our own dedicated server (really easy as terraria has such low requirements), and we would log on whenever and either play together or grind for the shared benefit.

        • Love survival games, spent ages on MC and such prior. Might have to try again with a friend and see how I fare

          • @InsertCrow: Yeah I can certainly see why it would be a bit boring on your own

It's a GREAT time to grab it because Version 1.6 is coming out in 3 weeks time. :D

  • Thanks OP. It's been on my wishlist waiting for a price drop.

  • i have this on switch, PS5, PC, Mac, and even my tesla has it lol. it just needs to be on my phone and it will complete the whole package lol.

  • for people that do have an iphone or ipad you can also get this for 8 bucks on iOS in the app store https://apps.apple.com/au/app/stardew-valley/id1406710800

    • Any pro and cons between iPhone vs steam vs switch? I don’t play multiplayer or mods. iPhone seems convenient but I wonder if the screen is too small compared to PC

      • There seems to be a free version on iOS called Stardew Valley+.

          That's the Apple arcade version.

it seems to be the exact same game to me no matter what platform you're on.I dont' think you can sync all your saves cross platform though which I think would be good if they did.

      • You can't use a keyboard to move around. Can only use touch controls.

Mobile version doesn't have multiplayer. That's it.

i think the arcade+ version had a multiplayer but the paid version doesn't

I first started playing this on mobile late last year and got about 50ish hours in it. Plays fine. You can zoom in and out, see things fine. There's a few minor things where the mobile controls aren't as capable as kb/m but on the whole it's not a big deal.

Just bought it on steam because I'll have a look at the mods one day. Or so I tell myself…

    • 8 bucks is about the standard price on iOS? Can’t quite remember. Bought it on an iPad for a flight but just didn’t quite get into it. Bought it now for PC.

Or you can buy a Tesla and get it for free!

The new update comes out next month. Really fun game to relax and unwind.

  • Have this both on PC and Switch. Have over 400+ hours on both. Definitely well worth at this price point.

my advice to people is if you don't like it the first time have a break and then try again, the game is designed for you to learn its mechanics first and know them well, when you get used to it, you will start to understand how good the game is. I took ,me a while to like this game.

    • will take ur advice. tried it once and didn't really get it.

      • yeah its going to take a while to get your head around it but take your time took me a while to get it.

  • Fun fact: Anyone buying this, you can also get it running via portmaster on your r36s. Runs ok.

  • Got it on gog wasnt my cup of tea but i saw the appeal

    • yep when I first played it I didnt' like it. but over time I tried to learn the game just bits and pieces wasnt' really playing it much and then one day it all clicked and I was hooked. But I was coming back to it once a month for about 15 min before it hooked me lol.

If you buy it on pc and the Nintendo switch, will you have the same save on each platform or would it be separate?

  • Bought it two weeks ago when I got my deck

    • Same but one week ago… I just requested a refund.

  • Was waiting for the 50% off on its anniversary date to pick this up after I missed out last year.
