[QLD] 5 Meals for $50 Pack + $19 Delivery ($0 C&C/ $200 Order) @ Super Butcher

180

Some different options this time around, ended up being pleased with all the products in the last selection and will definitely be picking this up again. It's been 8 days since buying the other pack and still have half the mince and a steak left and that's shared between myself and my girlfriend. Also if you get the chicken burgers I recommend freezing them if you aren't going to eat them within a few days due to the crumbs going watery, would probably say the same for the schnitzels and nuggets to be safe.

Options this week are -

Choose any combination of 5 meals from:

  • Super Butcher Beef Rissoles (600g)
  • Old English Thin Pork Sausages (800g/14pcs)
  • Pork Loin Steaks (600g)
  • Pork & Beef Mince (800g)
  • Crumbed Chicken Schnitzels (600g)
  • Chicken Nuggets (1kg)
  • Chicken Burgers (800g) ONLINE ONLY

Got about 50 nuggets out of the 1kg and really good for the price, nice tempura batter. Pork loin steaks came to 750g searched the fridge for the biggest pack, chicken schnitzels were also overweighed.

  • Ngl this actually looks like decent value.

Better than those suttons butchers "deals"

    • It's decent, not amazing though the $68 value is probably pretty accurate so $18 saving isn't bad when it comes to your proteins sorted for the week. All depends on what you buy to it will show you the original value of each item on the pack itself so can pickup all 5 of the one thing if it's the best value for you. Chicken burgers and beef and pork mince were in the last pack and both were good value for $10 each

ngl sometimes when I've pick these up I have looked at the tag and see if there's another packet with a higher value…

    • Also what you see in the image is likely what you get with each item so 6 rissoles (600g) or 3 chicken schnitzels (600g)

      • Could probably do without the nuggets personally
If they were chicken breast it would be better

        • Can mix and match the pack as you please with any 5 items. I'll be getting some and compare them to the Aldi tempura ones.

    rissoles.

    What’s this love?

    Rissoles. Everybody cooks rissoles, Darl.

Yeah but it’s what you DO with them.

Remember you are paying $13.27 per kg for cheap cuts. Convenient yes, cheapest you can get? No.

I eat meat (before the uneducated meatheads jump in) but would love it if they did a veggie version of meats like this.

Wouldn’t really be a butcher then would it…

Plenty of butcher's do sides as well, e.g. potato bakes, stuffed mushrooms, roast veg etc.

Not sure it'd work that well here though as I think most people go to Super Butcher to to stock up the freezer and none of that freezes very well.

        • You're right, but I don't think there's a huge overlap between individuals who are vegetarian/vegan and individuals who shop at butchers. That's a pair of well separated nuts on a venn diagram…

    • There’s plenty of businesses doing veggie boxes

    • Consider Box Divvy - you pick out your own stuff but its kinda like a co-op. Everyone puts their hands up for what they want, if the demand meets the threshold of the order then it gets ordered. Overall save about $20 per week on veggies, we rarely pay over $35 for a couple and get a shit load of it where I am almost always making a soup or stir fry to polish off the remainders before the next delivery. Quality can miss sometimes but when it hits it really hits, I swear I had the best red grapes ever a couple weeks ago, but then the green ones last week were on last legs.. Its quite a good system and my only gripe aside from not seeing the produce before hand is the organiser dictates pick up day, ours is Wednesday which can be a pain cause who wants to shop mid week.

  • This is a pretty standard special weekly in Super Butcher. It's good value and variety, but you can usually get much better value buying weekly specials on meats and portioning or getting creative in the kitchen
