Has Anyone Set Vacation Mode for the iStore Heat Pump?

I searched the Internet and read through the user manual, the steps I found so far are not very intuitive. Has anyone set up the iStore vacation mode before? Please share your exact steps. Thanks you.

  • I never bothered trying with ours, but agree the manual could be written slightly clearer in some of its instruction steps.
The energy consumption is so low, and it runs during solar generation hours, that i didn't find it worth messing with settings for the few $ it might save in a month as with no usage if would only be the minimal heat loss per day so probably about 1kwh a day.

If it's powered by the sun why does it matter?

  • Doesn't answer your question but I agree with you and SBOB that the manual is not intuitive.
My iStore replaced an instant gas HWS, I played with a few settings but ended up leaving it as setup by the installer.

  • some plumber told me long time ago that if the tank doesnt get heated to the right temperature, some algae may grow inside the tank and contaminate your water. i never touch the settings.

    • It just bullshit, unless it's your garden water tank, algae will never grow within such enclosed pressurised system.

  • I agree, the steps are not very intuitive however I did manage to use the steps in the manual to successfully set up vacation mode. I guess the main thing to note is that you turn the unit 'off' manually for the vacation mode to kick and turn the unit back on at the date you set.
