I have the old Ledger Nano S.
I don't have many coins at all.
The main ones are xrp, solana and a few bitcoin cash.
The Ledger Nano S is not very user-friendly when it comes to displaying the crypto.
I can only display about 5 coins at the same time. If I would like to view a 6th coin, I have to uninstall the app for lets say xrp and then install the app for the 6th coin.
My question is, how many crypto apps can be installed the same time on the new version Ledger Nano S?

Hardware wallets are for securing your Crypto from theft. The crypto is still held on the blockchain, which is online 24/7/365
Hardware wallets do the transaction signing offline to protect your coins from bad infected computers and hackers.
As for it being a ponzi that will unravel, The only issue I can see happening, is quantum computers breaking encryption. However as it is all software, the encryption can be made quantum computer resistant and any nonsense that occurred on the blockchain can be restored to a previous date as long as the majority agree with this. And guess what? they all will because if the network isn't secure, the value drops to zero so everyone has a vested interest in fixing it.
I believe crypto is here to stay, whether you like it or not. trying to go against it is like trying to stop the internet.
That will happen, but thankfully we can add multiple 25th words to our seed phrase which can be anything. If they break the 24 words, they might see an empty wallet and the 25th word wallets would be completely unknown to them. Good protection from the $5 wrench attack too. "Here's my 24 words, take it"

Yes, the app is good but it's painful that the old ledger can only store 5 apps, depending on the size. I will most probably buy the new basic version. Thanks for your replies
First of All big ups for having Bitcon Cash. I think that is a hidden gem that will really pay off in due course. halving coming before the BTC halving!.
As for Ledger, they are a bit of a shitty company and I wouldn't trust them to hold my crypto.
Have you considered Trezor? I still have the original one and its pretty good. And the company seem to have their shit together a lot more.
Ok just clarifying, do you have a nano s or the nano s plus? Nano s is one of the old ones with a micro USB connection, this you can only install a few apps due to the memory size. The nano s plus on the other hand has similar memory size to nano x. Sounds like you've gotten nano s plus if you have 6 apps, you can barely get 3 apps on the nano s. Confusing I know. Like some one mentioned here you have to use the app ledger live either on your phone or the PC, to get the full transactions like using swap functions etc.
Hoping this answers what you want. New nano s plus is exactly the same memory size as the nanox and you can have 100apps but it all depends on the size of the apps and overtime due to updates etc the app size increases
