    • Cant you port out and back in like boost?

    • +8

Usually you can if you turn off auto renewal after signing up and a few weeks leading up to your next renewal they will offer you a 25% off renewal if you turn auto-renew back on

        • The port out and back in again.
          Too easy

    Shame theres no 5g 😢

    • -3

Shame there's no 4g either, cos the service is so crap! 💩

      • +1

        You must be on Vodafone

    • Does that improve coverage on Optus?

    • +1

The Telcos are holding 5G back for "premium plans"

I have my family on an Optus family plan and it is super expensive but I can manage it remotely.

Is there anyway I can manage the recharges and billing for my extended family who live in different states if I get 3-4 of these plans? Or will I need to verify SMS codes etc to login and I won't have access to their device?

    • Hey mate, you can verify sms codes through the email that's registered on the account. That's how i have it set up for my parents.

The Optus Family plan is terrible value, nobody is using that much data.

    • +9

      That's pretty normal.

    • +1

just don’t exceed your usage it’s not that hard

    • +2

      That's normal behaviour on prepaid.
Once you've used your data then you need to recharge to get more.

On postpaid they usually let you keep using the service but charge you for the extras.

Either way, when you're out of data you need to cough up some cash.

    • +3

      How's it possible to be

      100% complete cut off

      and

      charge you $10 per GB.

for the excess you can't access?

      • Only if you buy extra data but that's optional.

    • +1

Yes, that's literally how prepaid mobile works on every provider I've been with…

    • That's one of the best features of pre-paid.

  • Would you recommend optus network or vodafone network to use alongside with a telstra network (boost) sim to maximise the chance of not going out of reception? Thanks.

    • Vodafone should be fine in the cities, leading up to regional areas, optus and telstra will be king.

      • Vodafone is dead useless driving away from cities. Optus is ok, much the same as Telstra wholesale but anyone who travels should stick with Boost/Telstra

        • Depends where you are, and what phone. I drove from Mornington Victoria to Gold Coast and had coverage all the way.
