Recommendation for Good Bluetooth Speaker with Clear High Frequencies

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good bluetooth speaker that has really crisp and clear high frequencies that doesn't get overwhelmed by excessive bass? Some sort of equaliser function that can boost high frequencies would be great.

Meant to compensate for high frequency hearing loss.

Bass is nice but has to be true low frequency bass that does blend in with the mid frequencies which would muddy the sound for me.

Not sure if the JBLs have equalisers or if there is any other brand / model to consider.

Thanks in advance.

  • Budget? Size? Use case?

Flip 6 has a equaliser, AFAIK.

Google "powered monitors speakers with bluetooth". They'll typically come with a bass/treble control on the back.

  • Budget maybe $100 or so. Handheld, portable for when the laptop or phone can't get loud enough.

    • $100 or so. Handheld, portable

This is not likely to be realistic.

This is the realm of those little rechargable boomboxes made by JBL and the likes. They are the opposite of 'crisp and clear'- they are muddy with bloated bass.

You're probably better off finding a pair of bluetooth headphones and using EQ on your phone or computer.

  • What would you suggest? Budget is flexible.

    • Have you tried using the eq settings on your phone with an existing speaker?

    • Compromise. Anything Bluetooth is about portability and convenience. Sound should be given less weighting.

Where portability isn't required, I'd spend more on a sound setup.

  • I thought Milwaukee where the best and loudest untill someone turned up with a JBL boombox 3 on a job site once
