Cruises with Carnival Group - Shareholder Deal

Cannot find this posted anywhere and whilst not quite a deal I thought it was worth posting this on the forum - someone may find it useful

If you own 100 shares in Carnival PLC (NYSE Code = CCL) and book a cruise - I bought mine on Comsec International easily enough.
(I've been told to purchase and submit request about 3 months before departure)

  • Interesting incentive

  • What’s the yield on CCL

    • No yield at this stage - last dividend was 2020 - more a growth stock

      • 🤣

  • Does anyone know of other publicly listed companies that offer shareholder perks?

    • Seems mostly US based but there is an app called “Stockperks” on your app store which might have some info.

Dominos but only 30% discount so I just use the codes on here

NAB used to offer some deals to shareholders, but they are gone to new shareholders.

As a legacy shareholder if this program, I get my credit card fee waived every year. Can't complain!

  • The benefit is a small on-board credit depending on the length of your cruise, in case anyone is wondering and doesn't want to click through.

I've been told to purchase and submit request about 3 months before departure.

It's a good deal if you want to own the stock for other reasons or you travel on cruises lots!

Used it a few times, and the extra OBC is added on top of any other booking OBC deals you may have gotten.

Doesn't take very long for it to be added, just show proof of shares and its added.

Bonus tips, true ozbargainer will buy the shares, add the credit, then sell the shares the next day!

~AU$24.56/share, so you'd have to spend $2,456 in order to get the credit…

Yes - it's not a great deal (hence on the forum) - but useful to know if you're going on a cruise, have a share trading account and want some extra on board credit to spend. Getting an extra $250US is handy for a 14 day cruise, the share price is reasonably stable (famous last words) and company is highly rated from a share-analyst and employee rating perspective.

  • if you didn’t do this when it was in the 6/700’s 12 months ago you really missed the boat ya know

  • Nice find though!

  • meh not really worth it unless you are retired and full time cruising. you pretty much get these deals automatically when you book through the cruise line, lol.
