Techfast. 3 Weeks and Still Nothing

I placed an order with them 3 weeks ago.

Early in my wait I contacted them by email and got a response that my build was "in the queue". Now I don't even get responses to my queries. I feel like I've fallen victim to a scam. My most recent request to them was to either supply the computer or a refund.

I'll give them till Monday to respond and if I get nothing I'm going to look into recovering my money and making their business behaviour clearly public.

Anyone else in that same boat? A group action against them possibly?

They sell a lot of systems so their dispatch times aren't great (mine took 5 weeks), but you do what you gotta do.

A simple search on ozbargain, before your purchase, would have revealed that this is "operations normal" for techslow techfast.

I guess this is just the penalty for zero basic research before a major purchase.

Plenty of posts warning about this in almost everysingle one of their deals. Just get a refund

I've been to their assembly center a few times, its literally crazy busy assembling hundreds of systems at any given time. I am sure they are not scammers, just walking the very fine line as I do as an ozb rep between staying in business by offering the best prices possible, while trying to provide as best customer service they can with the limited time/labour resources they have.

Clients of mine often get a little short with me due to slow email response times etc - but at the end of the day, its very hard to provide "a" grade customer service on an Ozbargain budget.

I hope they can resolve your issue, they are one of the few continual rep posters on Ozb and I hope they can stay with us for the long haul. We need more reps posters.

  • Harvey Norman will let you walk out today with a system. Just not at Techfast prices.

    • My local Harvey Norman never has stock of anything .. they're useless. I won't even buy a TV from those clowns.

  • Placed an order 23rd Feb, and received shipping notice 13 business days later (just under 3 weeks).
To be fair, their order page did estimate 1-15 Business Days.
I have ordered from them a couple of years back and everything was fine, hopefully this time will be too.

Prices are their primary market differentiator, perhaps their last few deals caused a big backlog of orders.

  • Their website still says 1-3 days lead time, a bit more honesty would be good @luketechfast

    • The 1-3 business days applies to regular price orders, not Ozb deals. The systems posted as deals state always 5-10 business days in that spot - that is at a website code level. We would not state the prices we offer and 1-3 days shipping unless that is achievable. The last 1-2 weeks have definitely been more of a challenge in timelines than normal and we've responded to as many comments as we can, but it does still remain that the vast majority of the many PCs we ship do head out inside that timeframe. I've said elsewhere I also understand and acknowledge that other systems shipping on time means sweet FA to someone whose system is delayed, and those whose systems are delayed are completely within their right to voice the concern publicly - it's up to us to hit our timelines across the board to avoid it in the first place. We're working as quickly as we can through all orders and enquiries.

You're a star Muzeeb .. must feel good to make assumptions based on zero information. You also have half read my post and jumped into your crapfest. My issue is the lack of communication.

If you're going to be a useless halfwit be a nice chap and go and be one somewhere else.

    • Relax and smile - it's a gaming PC, you'll get it soon

Just a heads up. I was just starting to panic from a lack of contact but just got 3 replies. Apparently there's a 5~10 day queue .. I didn't read/notice that anywhere, just read the standard 1 to 2 days.

Again, relax and enjoy the Friday - TechFast are not a scam

They do have variable build/delivery times and sometimes choose questionable parts but this is outweighed by their VERY CHEAP PRICES which is why you ordered in the first place, right?

You'll laugh when I tell you why I ordered it from them … I have a "penny pinching" friend that pushed me that way!

I was poised to buy a really nice rig from Aftershock.

I'd be happy if Techfast just shipped the parts .. gone are they days when you can build a PC cheaper than you can buy one :(

    • Please don't make me scroll halfway down to see Muzeeb abuse.
      I might have missed it!

In future if you want members to read your replies you should reply to their thread using the reply button or tag them in to grab their attention. For example, @kevpun.

Here endeth the lesson and I digress.

Your original post implied that you were surprised by the unexpected delay, the poor communication, felt like you were being scammed and wanted to publicly shame techfast

I stated that this is 'operations normal' for techfast and if you spent 5 minutes of basic research you would have been highlighted to the fact that:

      • Luke has been uploading bargains here for 5-6 years,
      • Techfast is not a scam, but a very busy established business,
      • There are dozens of existing forum posts on ozbargain that have expressed your concerns verbatim.

Yes, I did read your original post completely the first time and I stand by my original statement. If you spent a few minutes researching before a major purchase we wouldn't be reading the same drivel that gets regurgitated here ad nauseum.

  • Update .. just got a response from Zac at Techfast. PHEW!

Should have it soon. It was the silence that was killing me.

    • Thanks for the post and update - as I've said above and elsewhere the past couple of weeks have been more challenging than normal and ultimately it's of course on us to keep improving and hitting stated timelines to avoid the experience you've had.

  • Maybe they should change their name to TechSlow?
