Roborock S8 Pro Ultra Vs Dreame L10S Pro Ultra Heat

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to decide on a robot vac to replace my ~7 year old xiaomi.

I've narrowed it down to the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and the Dreame L10S Pro Ultra Heat.

I can find lots of reviews online for the L10S (which reviews quite well), but not many for the L10S Pro Ultra Heat.

The Dreame has better suction, and the mopping style is different, but I can't really find too much else regarding comparisons.

Currently, I can get the Dreame for $1600 and they have a redemption offer (free accessories) until 20/3. If I get the Roborock, the best I can find at the moment is $1999 at Costco, but I believe it might go on sale again soon with the release of the S8 Ultra MaxV?

We have vinyl planks throughout our house, with tiles in the wet areas and carpet in the bedrooms. Two young kids, no pets. Appreciate your thoughts. Cheers.

  • Only these robots? Do you consider Ecovacs?

We moved into our new house about a month ago. Been using the Ecovacs T20 Omni downstairs for 2 weeks now so far it's been great. Hybrid flooring, no kids, a bunny that we keep upstairs so no pets downstairs. Cleans very thoroughly with hot water auto cleaning of mopping pads, and it dries them automatically after cleaning as well. No manual intervention needed apart from refilling the clean water tank and taking out the dirty water tank. App is easy to use, responsive, no frills. We're considering buying another one. Currently sells on Mobileciti for about $1560 after code, and the only thing stopping us is we bought our unit prior to New Year and it was about $300 cheaper so we're holding out to see when it will be closer to that price again. Otherwise we really like it so far.

  • I've got a Roborock S7. Happy with it, although mopping could be better, and I don't feel that the Maxv nor even the S8 will be an actual improvement.

Two things that make me lean towards the Dreame L10S Ultra currently are:
    * different and potentially better mopping
    * it is the robot suggested by Valetudo, which is a cloud-free software replacement for various robot vacuums

    • How do you find the roborock app?
That's the only other difference I guess, apparently the RR app is a bit better than Dreame, and they release updates more often.

      • To be honest, the app is fine, although I find the map takes far too long to load. I have mine connected in with Home Assistant and have been using it to control the robot when doing unscheduled cleans - just so much faster.
