Smart Plug with 72 Hour Schedule

I am looking for suggestions/recommendations for a smart plug that can be scheduled to run every 72 hours. I have a sprinkler timer that is set to water every 72 hours, and I need a smart plug that will turn on the rain water tank pump as well. I have a Tapo P110 but it looks like it can only be scheduled by time/days of the week, not number of hours so it won't line up with the sprinkler.

I've had a look around at other brands but most of the descriptions only mention that it can be scheduled, not how it can be scheduled, so I'm looking for advice from anyone who has one that can do what I'm looking for.

I tried to schedule to water a short time every 24 hours to line it up but the lawn is sinking!

Thanks.

What home automation platform are you using? All the power outlets I've owned/used can repeat a schedule on selected days across a calendar week, but I'm not quite sure how to repeat at strictly 72 hour intervals. BTW, I understand there's no harm in leaving your tank pump powered on.

    • It's a fairly old pump so I think it just overheats. Also not keen to use power needlessly!

We don't have much on automation, mostly independent smart appliances, but it sounds like there aren't any options for smart plugs that can schedule every 3 days rather than days of the week. Maybe I need a new sprinkler timer…

      • Can you just use your smart power outlet for the pump and leave the sprinkler tap open?

        • Not sure what you mean, I think I haven't been clear on the setup.

The sprinkler is independent to the pump/tank, if I left it on without the pump running then it will still sprinkler, but using city water instead of tank water.

          • @jolee3: Sorry for my confusion, I'm a city dweller where the few tanks I'm familiar with typically service a single outdoor tap. Without a pump there's no supply.

  • As sumyungguy said, the all have schedules you can set for each day, a schedule for ON, then another one for OFF for any/all days.
EG Tapo, or Crest can do this.

  • maybe home assistant can help

    • It could but Hass requires a local server to run on and a whole lot of setup. Might be a tad over the top just to water the garden?

Any smart plug should be capable of what you need. One just sets a schedule (or multiples) for the days required using time "On" and a time "Off". If you use GoogleHome or the likes, one could set schedule via it (as an option).
