Welding Gas Supplier Recommendations

Where are other ozbargainers going for Argon? Thankfully always had gas supplied by work and now working
for myself i've got to figure out the most cost effective option.

Need and E or G size cylinder and likely to use 2-3 a year depending on size.

BOC and bunnings from a little bit of research seem to be the two go to options for price.
Any other options worth considering?

Cheers

  • Why not get D or C size cylinder? I get mine from Rydalmere

    • Need a fair amount of capacity especially when working remotely so e and g are ideal. Looks to also be better value going the larger sizes if going through a few bottles.

  • I know this is going to seem controversial… but have you tried using Google and searching for "industrial gas bendigo"

    I got;

    CV Bearings
    BOC Gas
    Tools Unlimited
    Southern Cross Industrial supplies…

    • Yep have googled and called a few. But I can certainly miss things hence asking for suggestions on where else to look at the most competitive prices.

      Cv bearings are pricey.
Tools unlimited burnt down last year.
No southern cross industrial supplies here.
Boc want your driver's licence but prices seem fairly competitive on larger sizes.

      • I agree hit and miss for tradies like us sometimes we see on google rock up and the joint has been out of business for the past 10 years. lol

I know the welders that we contract work to buy the gas from BOC, apparently cant beat them for price.

  • Do Total tools do that size?

    • Yeah they do E & G sizes + bottle deposit. Ending up going to Boc and getting a bottle.
