2 whopper juniors and 2 chips currently $8 in the app, these coupons suck.

    • +3

      100%

    • +1

They should just stop doing the coupons.

      • +4

Given it's a long standing tradition to have these paper/pdf coupons avialable, that's the exact way HJ wants to get rid of them, in favour of the app, where they can control the access, indentify, target and watch users for stats. HJ makes the traditional coupons less attractive compared to the app deals, so people start using the app.

Everything's going HJ's way. I mean, we-the puppets are going that way.

        • +24

I thought you'd be more of a pizza guy

          • +2

@dullbeard: Don't judge a guy by their nickname.

Unless you've seen me talking pizza deals, then you're 100% right.

    • +1

These coupons have been azz for 6 years now

      • I miss $3.95 and $2.95 small Royale meals

    • A while back someone done 20% hack for the w whopper junior 2 chipe before

      Any chance that happening again

  • Where do we get the coupons or just print them?

    • +21

      Phone is fine

      • +3

        Wasnt for me last time….

        • +1

WA wont accept phone and will make you buy something before they will give you one of the printed sheets they have under the counter

          • @Roary: That's some very scummy business practices! They're lucky you even go there 🤦‍♂️

          • +2

@Roary: Really? I have never, ever had that.

And honestly, i'd contact corporate to complain about any particular store that did that. Because it sounds like some shitty franchise owner/manager trying to pull a fast one. Because i don't think that HJ's cares about any old person using the coupons - even displaying it on their phone. I think they factor people doing that in already.

      • -2

        Thanks but is phone fine?

    • -1

      Phone is fine

  • Are 2 Whoppers still $5.99 or has it gone up?

    • Better than buying separately. 1 of the only regular takeaways I buy. A whopper costs 8.9$ea in WA, went up recently from 8.3$.

    • +1

      it's $11.95 on these vouchers

      • +4

That's some serious jacking. Store name checks out.

  • +1

    Damn, inflation (price gouging) sucks.

  • +2

How is Hungry Jacks not completely broke?

    x2 for Red Rooster..?

    • +1

im assuming franchisees and land ownership

    • +2

HJs/maccas/kfc do good business even with terrible deals.

How Red rooster/chicken treat stay in business outside of rural towns will forever be a mystery.
Rare to see anyone in them.
I am genuinely perplexed how they exist in areas with other options.

      • +1

I think they should have stayed out of fried chicken.

Need to offer better value too.

        • Agreed.
Yet another reason its amazing the continue to exist.

    • Because their profit margin are sky high duh. That's how all of these American fast food chains work. And for Hungry jacks the parent company they don't need to do anything, the money keeps on flowing in the form of franchisee fees and land value.

      • My son worked for HJ’s for many years as an assistant manager. All QLD stores were company owned. Can’t comment on other states.

    • because alternatives aren’t much cheaper, and with the cost of petrol how far will you drive for other option ? i’m happy if the app gives me the small double cheeseburger meal. what do people do for drinks on these deals , bring water in a bottle ?

  • +7

Nothing to see here move on.

  • Boycott HJs until they allow TAS and NT again please.

  • +1

Just use the reusable deals in the app. They are refreshed every few weeks, with random single-use deals also added often (maybe like once a week).
Plus use the daily deal spinner for more deal options, example of current one that spun up for me was 2x brekky wrap for $7 (vs $10 on paper coupons)
They are consistently better than the paper coupons.

    • +1

Yep I stopped using the coupons years ago the app offers much better value. Always spin and win first. Got a 2.50 whopper jnr today just like the old days.

  • +2

    Thanks for price increase update.

Not sure why people upvote this deal and make it look like a good deal.

    • Same applies to many deals because of inflation. But hey AldiRRP gets a shitload of votes everytime.

      • +1

But we have been on the peak of inflation for nearly 6 months. If anything, inflation is going down and interest rates are on hold. They are just doing like the big 2 supermarkets because they think they are entitled.
Wholesale meat has dropped in price, building supplies have dropped in price, even petrol is now stable in most suburbs.

        • Things take a while to drop. And that's if they do.

          • @cobknob: lol you really think these greedy fast food companies would drop their prices? Hell No. They might keep their prices the seem but do shrinkflation that increases their profit margin

            • @ninohax: Some prices do

            • +1

@ninohax: They do if people stop supporting these absurd prices and support local shops.

              • @easternculture: But people here are obsessed with western fast food. Australians don't really cook compared to Asian countries. They would keep on going there irrespective of the pricing or the absolute unhealthy crap they serve out there.

    • Because they are good deals, just not the same price as they were previously.

  • 2 Whoppers - $12. Crazy!

  • $12 for 2x Whoppers needs a coupon?

What's their normal price if that's a saving? Holy crap!

    • -1

      8.9$ for 1. It's a deal for 2 for 12$

      • I refer you to the many other comments mentioning the same thing.

$8.90 for one is a deadset joke.
But just because of that inflated joke price, doesn't mean $6 is a "deal" by any stretch.

Do you work for them? You've defended them multiple times in the thread already.

        • No shit it's expensive! Every other take away has gone up too whether you measure it as healthy or not.

          Locally for me..
          2x sushi rolls 8.8$
          1x whopper 8.9$
          1x Singaporean noodles 19$ (serves x2)

It's all fuking expensive no matter what you get. Nutritionally speaking, and protein wise Sushi rolls have stuff all meat, the noodles has the equivalent of a whopper maybe. I don't eat kfc or maccas anymore but they're expensive too.

Your fishing for cheap prices from 2010-20 era.

Its a deal cause it's 33% off for 2 and like any other maccas or kfc run that is what u get too

  • +1

    Not sure if anybody noticed:

    It's almost $12 for 2 whoppers!

    • +3

Word on the street is it's $11.95 for two Whoppers in case anyone missed it

    • Been having whoppers for years now. It's been steadily increasing like everything else lol, and since covid+inflation is when it started going out of control like everything else.

      • Still the best value among all the burgers, esp. if you're after a veg one.

  • +6

Ah the days of 2 for 1 Bacon Deluxe burgers are a distant memory :(

  • +3

Not impressed (no offense, OP). When was the last time they included a 2x Bacon Deluxe coupon? I used them all the time back in my uni days in the 2000's.

  • for those who did not use the shake app like myself for a long time. head up some freebies is back.

freebies for small coffee for a few tries and also hash brown. however, only manage to win in the morning.

    never win anything after 10:30am

  • +1

I miss the good ol' days when I could have a burger for $10 that would genuinely fill me to the brim

    • Get 2 whoppers and add extra beef to both

Prices have definitely gone up but I think it has tracked normal inflation rates and not exceeded it.

    • it has tracked normal inflation rates and not exceeded it.

Profits everywhere have tracked higher than inflation rates, though.

  • Please come back oh grilled chicken burger from the 90s. They've been absolute garbage since.

  • +1

Disappointed not to see 2× bacon deluxe burgers deals for $15 given the price hikes.

  • No deal here folks

  • Lol 2 whoppers for $12…no way they are worth $6 each

  • Oh wow, $11.95 for two whoppers.

    "Excludes TAS"
Racism is alive and well in Australia. Ah well. My cousin and I will be dining elsewhere!

    • -2

      Racism?

Please educate me on how or why a particular race was offended when excluding Tasmania?

  • +1

$4.95 Chicken Royale meal is the only deal here
