I hope you do the same complaining on all the other junk food deals here, KFC, maccas, chocolate etc…or do you only complain if its too "wOkE"

          • +1

@skidexa: people using that term are cool, as they've just discovered it.. Like a kid first learning a swear word 🤣

    • +4

Nobody says this is better for you

  • +1

so not real tuna then? some vegan bs fake tuna?

    • +1

well duh; why would they make fake tuna for meat eaters?

        • +3

Why would they care? They sell real meat.

          • -3

@Gehirn: apparently many people here care lol I would do it just for kicks. don't care if they care or not.

        • +4

          No you won't.

          • +5

@smartazz104: 100% he won't, he will eat junk at maccas and use their paper straw🤣

    • +1

Yep, tuna-style as it clearly says. No mercury, plastic and other oceanic things plus no cruelty like omnivore bs tuna.

  • +13

Tried this yesterday. Its terrible just get regular Tuna guys… This tastes like vomit.

      • +4

I bought two took two bites and threw both in the bin. Do not recommend.

      • +2

Meat eaters need to protest this

        Alliance with Pescatarians perhaps?

      • I would have thrown it back at the person that sold it to me and said this is shit.

        Doubt.

      • +2

That'll teach that awful hospitality worker trying to make a living. I've never seen somebody so upset about sushi before.

    • +2

Is that a valid reason to neg this deal?

    • +2

Its terrible just get regular Tuna guys

Your solution to one terrible item is to buy another one…

    • Sounds like regular tuna then.

Don't get me wrong, I like raw tuna, but cooked tuna makes me gag.

    • +1

Regular tuna tastes bad enough I don't want to try fake tuna

    • +5

Actual cooked, mashed tuna (like what it's trying to emulate in this case) tastes terrible anyway so it maybe is an accurate copy.

  • -7

vegans need to stop screwing with our food. give us real meat or go away.

    • +25

no one is forcing you to eat this you bellend

      • -1

        o thats coming.

      • +6

Its a $2 sushi roll they are basically forcing me to buy it.

  • why does it need to be tuna-style?

    • -1

it shouldn't even be called tuna since its NOT. thats the stupid part. they are tricking people into eating this shit.

      • +12

If you're tricked into thinking a "Tuna-Style Plant-Based Roll" is made with real tuna, you've got more problems than just the lunch you mistakenly bought.

        • the biggest issue is people don't read. They're many people that get sent a phishing emails and stupidly click on the link with out reading the number of people that do this is astronomical, you're assuming people are going to read the whole thing.

        • yea yea come on it's only now we're having to properly read this shit. you get into a habit of skimming over titles

    • +5

why does it need to be tuna-style?

      The gangnam-style weren't selling too well…

      • +1

they could jsut call it "vegan shit" it would sell well. just on the name lol.

  • +1

people on the last deal was saying this tasted bad but the fake chicken was ok

    • +2

but the fake chicken was ok

      😲

  • +3

    Tried it last time.

Best part about it is: it doesn't have the smell of tuna and none of the dryness.

Even though it is plant based it isn't targeted at vegetarians and vegans more of a sub for meat eaters. Each to their own. Considering sushi rolls are like $3.80 it is a bargain.

  • +2

    Tastes like my ass

    • +4

You know what your ass tastes like?

      • +3

        Yes, like this sushi roll

  • +2

Companies really need to rethink their marketing for plant-based products. I don't want "tuna-style" sushi or "beyond meat" burgers, it just makes you think like you're eating a knock off version. Just call it what it is and people will eat it if it tastes good. I will happily order a black bean burger, lentil curry, inarizushi… but I never order shit like beyond meat burger, "lamb-style" vegan curry, "tuna-style" sushi

  • Just eat real tuna, fish is meant to be good for you

    • +4

It may be good for you but not good for the fish so don't be selfish

      • +1

Fish eat other fish. Care to tell them they're selfish and stop eating each other? Brainwashed much?

        • +3

I eat fish, I eat beef, I eat chicken etc

But I don't pretend that there isn't a negative ecological/animal welfare impact of me doing so.

      • Damn son, you must be a vegan

    • +1

      microplastics are good for you?

  • +5

As Arnie would say… It's not a toona.

  • +2

What about the plant based fried chicken one? Tuna one didn't taste as good

    • +1

A comment further up says it was good.

  • +5

I wonder how many people commenting have actually tried the product…

    • -1

We have at least one person who’s just being a snowflake.

  • +3

I think this description is more precise and less misleading "Soybean paste roll with artificial Tuna flavoring."

    • -1

      You should work in Marketing.

  • -4

I would eat Haitian mud cookies before I ever put this poisonous crap in my body.
Sorry I mean "Haitian Japanese Kobe Wagyu A5 premium beef-style burger patties"

  • I love meat and have never entertained the thought of buying any fake BS like this, but the fact that some people get so bothered by the existence of such products is absolutely hilarious.

  • Is it the ones in my area, do other people find that sushi rolls are shaped like a golf tee on the inside? Like there's a big filling where it's on display and inside is very thin. Mostly rice.

  • I have had these "tuna" rolls. They are terrible. I would not have one for free. They taste like mush.

Each to their own, just my opinion.

  • +3

Just tried, the avacado is real and normal, but the so called fake plant based tuna is more like a sauce, with nothing similar to real tuna texture.

you can almost call it Avocado sushi with Mayo sauce.

    $2 is fine.

  • Can someone tell what part of our digestive system can process plant food?

    • prostate.

      • The prostate gland is located just below the bladder in men and surrounds the top portion of the tube that drains urine from the bladder (urethra). The prostate's primary function is to produce the fluid that nourishes and transports sperm (seminal fluid).

        No cigar

  • +1

suppose it'd be better than insect based

    • +1

      you WILL eat the bugs

  • +4

So much, "I'm against this kind of thing" bile every time there's some sort of vegan deal. Can't stand tuna, TBH, but this has been useful to build up my "blocked" database.

  • Tried both, the 'chicken' one is much better, spend the extra dollar or whatever.

  • Wow havent had $2 sushi since 2010 :(

  • -3

No thanks. I'll stick to my vegetable style meat based carrots.

  • +3

The number of people ITT getting triggered by Sushi roll lol

    • +1

Agree, plenty of other options, don't know why they comment. No need to buy anything just because it's cheaper.

  • +1

Carnists out in force today, imagine eating tuna, endangered species.

  • Tried today- not a fan very mushy and way too salty!

    • Yeah I don't care for the texture. Id making a tuna salad substitute at home would use smashed chickpeas etc.

The chicken one is ok, tried when cheap. The normal vege options better anyway

  • -1

I usually like meat substitutes every now and again, since my gf is vegetarian.

    However these are tasteless mush.

I would not eat again even for free.
