I had these guys install a 13.2kw (Sungrow/Jinko) system for me here in Melbourne late last year, was very happy with the work they did and highly recommend them.

How much did that set you back? (excluding any rebates / loans)

Im interested to know too. Can you pm me details?

  • likewise they installed a 6.6kw Sungrow + jinko system for me in melbourne this year and have absolutely no complaints - would recommend them as well

Is there nothing similar in NSW?

    • +1

I recently had a 6.6kw system installed by SHARK solar for $2,699 and have no complaints. Referred by a friend and then onto family and neighbours and first hand feedback from everyone has all been positive.

  • Cerium installed a 10kw system for us in Melbourne 3 and a half years ago and it is still operating like new. Might have even paid for itself by now. Highly recommended.

  • Any deals on a 3kw system? I don't have much roof space unfortunately :(

  • Do you also do hybrid install with batteries? Or a hybrid inverter instead of this grid tied ones?

    • +2

      Hi ECE,

Yes we offer both Hybrid solutions as well as Battery solutions depending on your needs.

The recommendation is to only get a Hybrid inverter now if you are planning to add a batter in the near future (6 months or so). The main reasons for this are that most hybrids are only combatable with their own brand batters (e.g. Sungrow Hybrid takes Sungrow batteries etc) and hybrids can be fairly expensive upfront so only get them if you are going to utilise them.

Many batteries in the market now have a hybrid inverter built in as well and many others can be AC coupled to any existing system regardless of existing setup.

Batteries and hybrids are not a one solution fits all and we talk to each customer to see their needs and recommend the appropriate setup.

Not every body needs batteries and batteries dont always make financial sense, as mentioned talk to us about your scenario and we can help guide your decision.

      Cheers

  • What is ball park figure to remove a 3kw system? or would it be cheaper to add more panels to existing 3kw system?

    • Hey Dealsniper,

You are looking at approx. $250 for the removal and disposal of an existing 3kW system. The factors that contribute to the cost are location of the panels, single or double storey, splits etc.

Further to this the cost includes the safe disposal of the panels at an appropriate recycling facility along with the remaining components of the system.

You would be better off removing the system and installing a new larger unit, this will mean that you are a more efficient system which is utilising the roof real-estate for a greater return than the existing system.

If we were to add onto the 3kW we would have to consider export limits depending on your property setup and distributor which can often lead to the new system being production/export limited which is not what we want.

Happy to chat further feel free to send a PM or reach out via our contact details.

      Cheers,

  • Hi Matt, just submitted a quote request under my dad's name, but should have sent an email instead so I'll do that now!

  • How does the Trina panel and Goodwe Inverter compare with the previous offer with Jinko panel and Sungrow Inverter?
