    • I’m surprised you didn’t have any luck with HN, do they not wanna clear old stock? Did you try both Preston and Maribyrnong?

I picked up the 55” version last week from Good Guys for $1270 (I had a particular cabinet I was trying to fit it into). So far so good. Blacks are awesome, when Dolby Vision activates I actually find it too bright sometimes, especially the white subtitles at night time which feels like it’s cutting your eyeballs out like laser beams haha.

I don’t notice the lag with the Google TV interface.

    • This comment is seriously making me want to pull the trigger on a 55".

      It aint OLED bruh

    • No, because it's not an OLED.

  • How does the picture compare to a LG CX OLED?

    • The C845 will ruin the CX in a bright environment but the CX will ruin the C845 in a dark environment. Pick your poison. Nowadays, OLEDs have become much brighter than they used to be (A95L, S95C & G3) so they're very capable in a bright environment.

I ordered with 30 secs of that guy posting, knew something else was coming along.

I'm bit further north but getting it delivered to work then the haul home.

Stocked for the kiddos media room and they can leave me alone now.

          • @2stroksmokr: Hahaha same. Bought this from my kids and wife living room. This is really overkill for them and going to be huge upgrade over the 55-inch B6 OLED that it will be replacing. Meanwhile, I'm rocking a 77-inch LG CX OLED in my media room :)

            • @merajaan: An upgrade over a B6 OLED? Don't get your hopes up there mate. It might look better during the day but certainly not at night.

I got the TCL 75inch 835 last year and it has terrible Audio delay.

Went to JB and they got TCL to contact me.

The guy on the phone said to disable a bunch of stuff, go to an app and clear caches and still has delay.

Even worse when you plug a console to it for media.

The in built audio delay settings range is -50 to 200. So I actually need the sound to catch up to the lips of people on screen, and -50 is no where near enough.

I am really unhappy that I have to disable everything and then go into an app, then clear caches, every single time I start up my TV. Which I have to hard power down every time I turn off my TV. (TCL tech told me to do).

    Never buying TCL again.

    • interesting is that only with the onboard sound system? is it improved with an external amp? also I was wondering what do you think of the VA panel on this tv? they are known for bad viewing angles and colour shifting beyond 20 degrees viewing. How have you found it?

      • The picture is fine. Gaming picture is fine too. You just gotta adjust to your liking.

But I am not meant to mess with any settings. Then disable everything that makes the picture look the way I want apparently to get the sound delay to be worse.

I tried a Bose soundbar too and it was delayed still cause the sound bar doesn't have a way to reduce the audio delay as much as I need.

Also the sound will start crackling sometimes, it wasn't the internet during streaming, Cause I tested it with XBSX and PS5. To get rid of audio glitching out and sounding robot like(crackling, I have no idea how to describe it),it of course needs a full shutdown.

Gonna go back to JB HiFi and see if I can just get it refunded. Its still under 1 year.

        • Australian consumer law should be your friend on this one, your purchase definitely does not meet consumer guarantees.

    • What about connecting an external device such as fire stick or Chromecast 4k? Is the sound still affected? I know you connected a console. Also if you have an avr or soundbar setup, you can permanently adjust the lip sync delay.

It's interesting there is not much complaints about the c845 by so many ozbargainers.

      • I haven't tried CromeCast or firestick. Only PS5 and XBSX.

My soundbar does have an adhustment but caps out around -50, I will need at least -150 I think. Same with TV settings.

I actually prefer the TV sound to the soundbar too. The TV speakers are centre and don't sound like they coming from bottom like soundbar.

First time buying TCL cause at the time I didn't see any complaints either.

        • I have always had home theatre and hi-fi with avr and 7.1 setups. Recently I moved to soundbars to declutter the room. Sonos Beam and Samsung 990b area brilliant. It is unlikely for any TV to match these soundbars. For my family room, I have dispensed with all the speakers and avr and replaced with the above soundbara. I don't miss my previous set-up.

Also Chromecast 4k and fire stick 4 k are so cheap it's worth trying it out to isolate the issue with the TV sound processing.

          • @zxcvb: Nice.

I'll try a chromecast for sure.

            Thanks.

      • Have a look at Whirlpool, it's much more prevalent there.

    • This is just one example of what I'm trying to say to people about the inherent software problems that exist with Hisense and TCL but no one wants to know about it. If you can look past this, they're great TV's, I'm not denying that because I'm after a 55" myself.

Edit: See what I mean, you get down-voted by ignorant people who don't know anything about TV's. At least tell me why you disagree with my comment.

      • So is it fixable with a chromecast 4k or fire stick 4k esp the audio and lip sync problems? Essentially, if you never setup the inbuilt google TV and just use the TV for its display using external devices such as chromecast 4k or firestick and soundbars/avrs, is this possible and if so, what has that experience been?

  • Great deal if you have a way of getting it home. No delivery options which is odd…

Bought c845 the other week. Not loving it for AFL

    • Is it motion blur? How is 4k quality and non hdr quality?

      • +1

4k is great when I've tried it. Non hdr sucks. Maybe it's my expectations? Haven't had a tv in over a decade. Bought this one and I'm far from impressed. Sport is watchable but not the experience I expected sadly.

      • Yep, poor motion processing.

Looks like both JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman have marked the product as sold out.

    • How do they sell out when they are not open today?

      • Online orders that updates inventory in real time until it's sold out. The website is still open and accepting orders.

        • Which website?

I went to jb just now in melbourne cbd, they do have stock coming as one poster previously stated. Got the original deal with perks at $1566 and used the 20x everyday rewards points offer for the tcm gift cards which worked out at another 10% off so works out $1410 (10 tcm cards per account so you need three rewards accounts.

Very long receipt so make sure you have all the cards scratched off and removed from the packaging.

Not as good as the bing lee sale which was $1380 if you qualified for all the discount options, but if you really want this tv you can still order from jb.

  • Just been to Osbourne Park store, they have 6 units in transit to WA (delayed due to flooding on the railway), just paid full as pre-order.

    • any updates? i got mine in cockburn also in WA. what was your expected delivery date?

  • Can someone share a screen grab of the price as it was or the receipt at this price?

  • Got an email that JB Hi-Fi would process a partial refund to my purchase earlier when it was $1706. Probably $110 back to my account.

  • Just received a cancellation email from Bing Lee:

This email is in relation to your order of the TCL TV model 75C845.

Unfortunately we have recently been notified of a stock issue as the manufacturer has closed existing orders for this model and I'm afraid no new stock will be arriving.

For this reason the delivery of that model cannot go ahead for Wednesday 01/05.

We do apologise for any inconvenience caused.

There is some stock available for the below Hisense TV model 75U6KAU:

Otherwise you are of course entitled to a full refund at your discretion.

Please let us know how you wish to proceed or contact us if you have any issues or questions.

Amyone else had their order cancelled?
