Best Value for Money Sim

Hey all, I’m moving up to far North Queensland
Specifically Cooktown,

I’m after a SIM card that will work up that way.

I’m not tech savvy at all and know limited about these kind of things.

I’m after something with best money for value I think Telstra network would be my best option from some research.

What can you recommend.

Unlimited calls + text minimum 20gb data :)

Filter by Telstra and minimum data.

I use Kogan $120 per year with 120gb (or 100gb?) and unlimited call and text. This is for those who still can use mobile data most of the times , but not enough for streaming video and music often.

    • I second Kogan.

Boost is good if you need international at all.

But Kogan have been the winner in this best value category for now.

    • Kogan —> Vodafone network, which does not appear to have any coverage in Cooktown according to Vodafone.

Your research would be correct (imo). If it where me going to live up FNQ I would not roll the dice unless I had a couple of sims of different providers.

Grab a Boost 365 day sim with 260GB for the year on it, might seem expensive to the budget sims but some people/places have specials on them. Meaning $300 sim for 250 and up.

A seller here on OzBargain is clearing old sim stock which needs to be activated by April 29th 240GB Boost 365 day sim with 23% off $300 = $231
(and 20GB bonus data if activated before the 29th April making it 260GB and you can also convert your sim to a eSim if your phone permits)

Would choose express post for 50c on the sim.

    Good luck!

No options for up there only Telstra and Optus work Optus only in town pretty well. Telstra has best coverage and if driving up from Cairns will get signal in and out all the way from Mareeba, namely Mt Molly, Mt Carbine, Lakeland Downs, Springvale station, then as you get closer to Cooktown Last 30km in and out till you get to the Big Annan river, Boost is the really only other full Telstra MVNO option.

  • Aldi use telstra
