No details on them but random core memories unlocked.

Back in my day….We use to think any kids with those were the rich kids 😂

    I have twins.
When they were almost one, i wanted to buy a car for them, a ride on car. Wife said no. Completely unknown to us, my brother bought them one for their 1st bday. THEY LOVED IT. They couldnt drive, and they could barely fit (together). but they enjoyed opening the door and hopping on and changing the music.

A few months later, they wouldnt fit anymore, so we had to upgrade. We bought a black landrover looking one which was a two seater, with four motors and 2x 7ah batteries. It would fit both kids. And i would drive it via a remote. The SLA batteries in there, died quickly. As it's easy to over discharge past the 50% mark and kill them. I replaced them with two itechworld 7ah 12v batteries and then covid hit. We used the car daily to go to the playground, ok not daily, maybe 5 times a week. The batteries are still working, the car is still working, the kids are 4.5 now. The kids have been able to self drive it since 3yo.

Note, not ALL kids can handle them, the guy we bought the black landrover had bought it for their kid, who was also 1yo, but that kid was TERRIFIED of it. My kids, being car kids, absolutely love it.

Get the widest one that fits through your doors.
Get one with 7ah sized 12v batteries, NOT 2x 6v batteries.
budget buying lithium batteries for it, OR, hacking together an adaptor to take your powertool 18v batteries with a step down transformer.

    This the one we have
    https://kazotoys.com.au/products/officially-licensed-24v-480…

It's not 24v, it's 2x 12v put together for higher capacity and power draw.
pretty sure it's also not 480w
you're not getting 2hrs runtime, maybe .. 2km with SLA and 4km with Lifepo batteries.
it has a bonnet to carry snacks and waters and toys.
The doors pop open if the chassis bends on an incline, i DIY'd some extra latches.

    Tesla + AP

  • Probably a good idea. Apparently young people are getting their license less and less https://www.racv.com.au/royalauto/news/community/teenage-dri… so these toy cars might keep them interested in driving. Program it into their brains when their young; like how only a child can eventually be a grand master at chess, if they start chess at 17 then there's no statistically no chance of it ever happening 🤔

But people say range and charging time are an issue.

      Kids getting range anxiety?

What if he needs to travel further than a few houses down the street? Maybe he wants to visit a friend a few streets away, he'll be forced to stay overnight and recharge for the return trip.

Grab them off Facebook market, or hard rubbish.

Generally the majority of parents buy these at rrp only for the original batteries to degrade and then they offload them for free or really cheap listed as does not run or charge anymore. Otherwise, found in hard rubbish.

Thanks to OzBargain and all my power tools in the Ozito ecosystem, got plenty of Ozito PXC 18V 4.0Ah Battery and use these with an Aliexpress adapter (link removed as it came up as affiliate issue). Can also run 2 in series to get 36v out of the cars, but will need step downs to your lights and music player! If you just plan to go one 18v, you could get away without the step downs, but may run into some issues with too much power for the controller. I’ve fully bypassed the controller as the remote isn’t needed.

But you do also need to upgrade the gearboxes and motors as the originals don’t usually last really long with 36v 🤪

Maybe I’ve just gone too far and living vicariously through my daughter lol. But she loves driving and racing with her cousins!

    • Holy shit dude, thats fkn awesome.
Those videos made me laugh, My little boy is only 2 but he would get so bored at the standard 12V ones speed… like 4-6km/h boringggg

    • Is it difficult to set up the batteries, I am pretty clueless when it comes to anything electronic…

Yeah my girl started from about 2 years old too. The cars with a high and low switch are good, as the low basically halves the 18v output. That's where she started, the from 18v to 36v.

If you're just using 1x 18v you essentially just need some wiring pins to be able to slot into the + and - terminals respectively. 18v 'should' be just on the border line to not blow most controllers. I've gone through about 5-6 different cars, and had only one blow out with 18v battery.

I'm no electronic expert, just watched a number of YouTube videos, and it all escalated from there!

In my previous life, I was a huge car enthusiast, so if you're the same you may trigger the bug in you again and spend countless hours on juicing up the car!
