This is better than the IKEA merch

    • +4

      Why?

      • +9

Don't feel obliged to buy meatballs or a hotdog at the same time?

      • +4

Looks to be embroidered as opposed to the iron-on IKEA merch.

        • Does it, tho?

    • +2

I’ve been looking for ikea merch for ages! Where can you buy them?

      • +2

I also wonder what ikea merch they're on about.

        • +2

I got a freebie a while back and it's a t-shirt with a barcode and product number on it for the tshirt. Pretty nice.

        • Search "ikea dress" on google images

          • +3

@Nillionaire: That's not "ikea merch", that's people making things out of ikea blue bags.

      • At Ikea, just before the checkouts

  • +11

Hold on, Aldi merch? So I am paying for something that's Aldi branded? That means free advertisement for them. Good marketing Aldi, I won't bite (although quality might be good).

    • +2

I would buy this one for Christmas if I lived in the northern hemisphere.

      • +2

You would probably wear it once a year (if that). They should give them for free with purchase of let's say $100+. It's free advertisement for them.

    • +17

That means free advertisement for them

Same as any product with a logo on it.

      • +4

That's why they should give it for free as part of a promotion (e.g Spend $X get Y). Imagine wearing Woolworths or Coles Merch, would you?

        • +15

I wouldn't wear ALDI brand clothing and I don't really wear clothes that have a big logo on them like Nike or Under Armour etc but saying ALDI should give these away for free is like saying Nike should give their shoes away for free as I am advertising them for them.

          • +1

@onetwothreefour: Wait a second, Nike, Under Armour etc are clothing/sports brands, that's their purpose/company. So it's not the same.
Aldi it's a supermarket, you can't compare oranges with apples.
Now if you don't like big logo's on your clothing, that's just your preference/liking and it's fine.

            • +8

@Scrooge McDeal: Why not look at it another way- give Aldi some free advertising, cos without them ColesWorth would be ripping us off 100%+ more then they already are (yes and I know Aldi have been price gouging too).

              • @alidli: I would maybe give them a free advertising, if they gave me the merch for free (and that's even a maybe). But I would not pay for Aldi merch.

                • +5

                  @Scrooge McDeal:

……."Imagine wearing Woolworths or Coles Merch, would you?"
……."But I would not pay for Aldi merch."

Yet you'd probably walk around with Coles and Woolies plastic bags that you've had to pay for and not give it a second thought?

                  • +1

                    @alidli:

Yet you'd probably walk around with Coles and Woolies plastic cloth bags that you've had to pay for and not give it a second thought?

I use any cloth bags, Aldi, Woolworths, Coles, that's temporary until I put the shopping in the boot of the car.

But wearing clothing merchandise of any of those companies, I would be like a clown 🤡 walking in the streets.
I am not a supporter of any of those companies, I only support what's best for my pocket (whoever has the best deal of the product I am after).
Considering how much profits they make, given the tough times that a lot of Australians are facing with this "artificial inflation" (not all but most price increases are opportunistic money grabs).

                • @Scrooge McDeal: It’s not free advertising if you’re expecting clothing as as payment.

          • +2

@onetwothreefour: I'm a name brand loyalist. I don't mind paying the extra. All my clothes are branded Made in China.

    • As with Polo, Lacoste, Levis, Lee … (clue in music) the neverending story list …

    • Have you seen sports jerseys?

    • 'woke' opinion

    • +24

Watch the bike video for some laughs :-)

      • +7

That is gold and why I love Aldi adverts.

      • +4

Hahaha.. would never have clicked play. Glad I did.

      • +7

        Shhhhhimano gearsss

          • +8

@Mike Nolan: Aww cheer up mate. And maybe get a colonoscopy, you might find one of the bikes has gotten stuck up there too.

        • Yeah luved the Brick Heck sound effects.

        • All 7 speeds!

          Don't forget the cusshiony seats

    • +2

Cool product til it gets stolen.

    • Don't forget to get the matching chainsaw

      https://www.aldi.com.au/special-buys/special-buys-sat-6-apri…

    • $1200 bike but it only comes with a 1yr warranty…

      • And weighs 40kg!?!

  • +4

Do you get a discount if you wear this while shopping at Aldi stores?

    • No. Instead you get to show your obsession with Aldi.

      • -4

I know it's happened over many years but our Govt really stuffed up by letting only a few major supermarkets dominate the supply of food in Aus.

I consider this really bad timing & just shows how out of touch Aldi are with what's going on.

        • +2

In what way does it show that?

    • +6

Even better, you'll get discounted by other people in public

  • +5

I wouldn't pay a cent to be a walking commercial for a grocery store, they need to pay me to wear these 😂

    • +3

So what about your common clothes, do you wear something with a brand logo or brand name across the chest? 😉
I see wearing of Aldi merch as ironic and funny

      • No, I don't wear clothing with big logos or names.

  • +5

Please consider rotating pictures before uploading it for people's poor necks :(

  • Reminder set, great for a father's day laugh.

  • +6

Just in time for my upcoming court appearance

  • +9

Cost of living crisis… Aldi Eschays!

  • +2

I actually like the Navy hoodie but I think I'll pass on wearing it in public

    • Could actually look like Red Bull Racing

  • +1

So I have purchased a Bunnings umbrella before (short story, arrived off a plane to rain from a land of unending sun, and Bunnings was the closest and only open reasonably priced place).

And I love my Spudshed socks, but if I recall they were “free with purchase”.

    • +1

Bunnings umbrellas are actually really good quality though. I just wish mine was Hammerbarn branded instead.

  • Halloween costume sorted.

  • Only thing worth buying in those pictures are the crates and they’re not for sale unfortunately

  • +6

I am unironically feeling the bucket hat and trackie set. Just need a boombox, gold chain.. and maybe all white stan smiths?

    @rosebank fit check?

    • +2

This is how they should have promoted that outfit

    • +1

I own a lot of tracksuits, bucket hats, a vintage boombox and gold chains. And white shoes.

I say go for it homie

  • Nice advertising for aldi

  • but but not aldi undies
ill look like a dork with my CK undies showing and not my aldi undies

  • Too bad they don't deliver. How else am I to get this without an airfare.

    • -1

What country do you live in?

      • +7

Tasmania. It's a tiny country between Australia and Antarctica.

  • +3

April Fool's Day is tomorrow. Get your timing right!

    • +2

That's what I thought too…. Spoilers for releasing early catalogue pics.

No prices should be a hint.

      • Wut. But there are prices.

        • Right you are…. I was only clicking on one link

  • No way in hell i would wear merch while these supermarkets are ripping us off. crazy

  • Gotta love how everyone's like "wow, free advertising, Aldi should PAY ME to wear that" as if they consider themselves as a exceptional ad post, and as if nobody's going to buy these.

If nobody were buying these, Aldi wouldn't be selling it. Assuming these are real products.

  • April fools?

  • +4

The blue Hoodie lowkey slaps. Wouldn't wear it in public but would definitely rock it on laundry day. $17 for a good quality meme clothing isn't too shabby.

    • +4

Took me a bit to realise that "lowkey slaps" means "is pretty good".

      • +1

        Yeah no cap

        • Bussin

      • Off topic, but I am feeling like pizza today, what's your favourite pizza place of all times?

        • +3

From Victorian offer that matches my extensive worldwide pizza experience 🧐 I can recommend +39 in the city, A25 in South Yarra and for NYC style, Slice Shop in Footscray is great.

I take Pizza Hut whenever I feel like deep pan (the OG Detroit style pizza is expensive otherwise) and Domino's too, whenever desperate.

  • +21

Surely they would call it Aldidas

  • +2

    These look legit decent haha

  • So is this April fools or legit?

  • +1

    totally rocking 80th futuristic look

  • +4

PROTIP: Make sure you cover up that ALDI logo when you actually shop at ALDI sporting your ALDI merch, unless you want to get hounded by customers who will automatically assume you work there. LOL!

  • A pity they don't cover my size. I'll just have to keep rocking FILA merch.
